I can tell you right now- if somebody spit in my face, I would break my leg putting my foot in their @$$.

That is about the nastiest, most degrading thing a person can do to another person, without *****ting, pi$$in' or throwing up on them....

Sure, she deserves to be ridiculed, exiled, cast-away, ignored, and whatever- but to spit in someone's face, for their opinion in 1972 (32 years ago) is going a bit far.

Heck, more than half teh country was unpatriotic back then; shunning our soldiers, spitting on them, calling them baby-killers, etc... Fonda just had the fame, money & popularity to put a face on her discontent. I'm sure had they the resources, there would have been plane-loads of unpatriotic Americans over there doing the same thing.

I don't agree with her view, but I also know that most people deserve a chance to grow up..

 

Sorry, I don't agree with you on this one. She had it comming, and she knows it. That's probably why she didn't press charges. True, there was a big anti-war movement back then but she was a traitor. I didn't serve, but I'd love to spit on the biach myself.

If you have ever read any of the accounts written by the American POW's that HANOI put on display for her, you would find out that some were severely beaten for not agreeing with her remarks...She should have been kicked out of this country for the stupid ***** she pulled....She deserves what she got...

 

Personally, I'd have nixxed the tobacco, and chugged 5 cups of coffee an hour ahead of time instead...

Granted I wasn't even alive at the time... but I think that the lingering hatred towards her is what she deserves, protesting the war, fine (lots of people, even famous ones did but they don't get spit on), treating our boys like crap when they came home, that sucks but that's between those people and their consciences... Cavorting with the NVA (like they were a bunch of angles ) while American POWs were being tortured and killed by those freaking sadists, that gets here a well deserved face full of chew spit 32 years later IMHO. I've been spit on several times on the football field for nothing more than a cut block... She'll get over it, but I hope her conscience eats her up when she thinks about what she did in Hanoi. I'm surprised that it has taken this long for her to get a face full of spit.

You know that some of the POWs secretly handed notes to her for loved ones back home and she turned them over to their captors.

I would have to disagree with you that "most" of the people in our country would have done what she did.

She's lucky that's all she got. You should always support your country and your troops. It seems like Holly Wood likes to try to run by their own rules and they try to push their views on their fans and viewers. The media is to blame as well as the movie stars. With all the hearts she angered with her acid mouth, news of her demise probably would've sparked celebrations across the country.

Man- well- I guess she kinda had it coming. But still, why not a slap instead? Why after doing it, run like a punk? He should have stood there, if he was truly proud of what he did to her. Oh well; she can wash it off, and all's well.

Actually, if she'd kept her mouth shut, that probably wouldn't have happened to her because as much as I've read and watched about Vietnam, I never even heard of that escapade, until she "apologized" last week.

So, I guess she opened up an old wound.

Football:

I've been spit on too (football); people resort to nasty-tactics when you're whipping their butt up & down the football field for 4 quarters. I just kept whipping it, all night long~ it's amazing how timid a 300 lb defensive lineman will get after a few well-placed knee blast blocks/cuts.

I loved playing offense more than defense. Nothing made me happier than to "deny" a defensive player any tackles, or sacks. I could whip them with physical strength, and with tactics.

Dang, I shoud've gone to college!

 

I wouldn't p!ss on her if she was on fire.
