It's fun to speculate, but in eighteen months (when the pre-race race heats up) we'll begin to see which egos are willing to jump in the ring and face the spears of the spin-doctors. Until then, my money is on Spongebob Squarepants

Yes.

I'm not totally thrilled with the right going so far right (religious). I think it's better than the left playing Robin Hood though.

I hope that we get a choice that is slightly right of center, that will not tell us we need to save ALL of the poor, disenfranchised (by prividing everyone with healthcare, housing, opportunity). I would like to see someone who believes more in survival of the fittest, with a few exceptions.

I guess I'm just a heartless b@stard though.

(EDIT: It's a good thing I'm not going to run for president. I can't even get the right fairy tale. I'm not sure what playing Peter Pan would be. What I ment to say was playing Robin Hood, which is what it says now.:o )

It was close, 3 million votes is close.
Let me kindly explain the Red/Blue map and then you can pass it on to sean hannity since we are no longer on speaking terms.

'Dirt Don't Vote'
That is the key here, dirt don't vote.

In the city, there is a Liberal on the first floor second floor and so on up to the 99th floor. On the Red/ Blue map that is represented by a tiny speck of Blue with another tiny Blue speck beside it representing yet another 99 liberals living on top of each other.

In the 'Heart Land' a lone rancher whose next door neighbor lives six miles down the road, votes Conservative and a giant hunk of acreage that the rancher owns is painted Red on the Red/Blue map gets painted Red.

Then Fox News puts up this distorted map that represents nothing but how much US dirt was under someones feet that they actually owned when they pulled a lever.

Fox here is a headline!

People Vote, Dirt does not vote.

Your map is trivial piece of info suitable for Ripleys and not much else.

The electoral votes were not as lopsided as the map suggests.

Stop using it to mislead both the 59 million that voted one way or the 56million that voted the other.

Why does a person who has 99 people above and below him and on all sides of him tend to vote for Govt programs, govt involvement, bigger govt?

Why does a rancher with 99,000 acres and who can't see another person for six miles tend to vote for less govt, less intervention, less taxes?

Heck, I don't know.

I agree that Bush is farther right than I am. I just don't see him affecting the whole country in an eight year term. We're still ate up with political correctness. We need a right leaning leadership to get some balance back into the lives of everyday Americans. It seems to be working; but, until we see pop-culture affected so as to reflect the views of most Americans again, I say everyone should be leaning to the right of the boat as far as we can. Parents can't teach their kids much today that isn't contradicted on television, or on campus. Liberalism is just too permissive of societal degradation.

Hillary may not be the candidate in 2008. I don't think she could win in the Primaries. She may end up on the ticket as VP. We'll find out in a few years.

say no to Hillary

I'll take the far right over the far left anyday. At least "W" has kept this country safe since 9/11. Where would we be had Gore taken that first election? Probably appeasing terorists for killing 3000 people in less than 1hr on 9/11. Lets not forget who those people were, African Americans, Muslim Americans, Korean Americans, Japanese Americans, Children, Mothers, Fathers, Firefighters rushing in to save those rushing out, Police Officers.
The Left is far more dangerouse for our country than some people seem to understand. This is America....not some "Quazi Euro France" like country. The land of the free where everyone is welcome, even the terorists that want to bring us down.
I'll stop my rant now, I could go on, and on, and on. I don't want to bore anyone.

Scott
Thank God for "W" oops! I shouldn't have used the G word
Sorry!

I'm hoping that 2008 presents us with two candidates who are closer to the center than the last two elections, both parties are two far out on their respective limbs right now. By the way, I think Hillary is too polarizing to win an election, she's good a hoodwinking the foolish (see much of NYS) but there are too many that will hate her no matter what she did just b/c of her and Bill's legacy. I'm thinking that the Dems may have learned their lesson about candidates with too much baggage after Kerry, but then again who knows... I say a McCain/ Lieberman third party campaign would be a breath of fresh air for this country probably couldn't win but could open up a lot of eyes in DC and make more people think that maybe voting for the lesser of two evils really isn't such a great situation. I’ve got to agree with Raoul, 3 million votes is close, not 2000 close, but not exactly a mandate. Liberal and annoying as they may be at times, those folks stacked up in the cities and blue states count just as much and I think you can count on them coming out in even bigger numbers in 2008 and with reinforcements if the Republican candidate has any connections to the Bush regime. I think that they really should beg Colin Powell to run, but Anthony Zinni might not be a bad choice either. JMHO.

No offense, I respect your political view but three million votes is way too close considering that John Kerry was the candidate. George Bush got the most votes ever in an election and guess who got the second most votes ever, Kerry. If people don't like this country and what we stand for than they should freakin leave! Go to some third world country where they can truly live under oppression, and not just pretend to. Now don't get me wrong, I know there are people in this country who truly need help, but lets not create programs that every gangster/thug criminal will take advantage of and suck the life out of that program. You see there are people in this country who want the easy way out and I have no simpathy for those people.
I work my a$$ off every day, as I'm sure you do, to support my family and afford my kids a shot at a good life, and I'm happy to do it. I'm not simpathizing with anyone who is not willing to do the same.

What scares me more than any of the possible candidates mentioned so far is that most of those who have responded, based on their lack of spelling and grammar skills as demonstrated in their responses, are actually voting.

Before trying to address the issues in writing, please, for the sake of all involved, read these (or something like them):

Also, until you can read and write simple sentences, please don't vote, because, I mean, like . . . damn.

If you think the grammar is bad here, you have no idea just how bad it can be. Try checking out the tree climbers over at www.ArboristSite.com . Or even worse, the clods on the Chainsaw forum there.
