Talking Apache landed on campus today...pics!!

Happened to have my dig camera today after one of my classes to catch an Apache taking off from campus by our dorm. I was able to get about 60 feet away, camera makes it look further away than what we were. They wouldnt let us go any closer...anyways heres some pics!!

Its cool when they hover above you about 40 feet and fire live missiles down range.

First:

That's a school? It looks like a prison!

Second:

Why would an Apache land at your school?

Yes, its Central Missouri State University....12,000 kids
Thats the bad side of campus....not the quad or anything.
They were recruiting for the ROTC, having a BBQ, etc

Yea it was pretty loud, we had to lean pretty hard just to stand up when he tilted the blades to lift off.

Doubt they would have fired any missles, unless it was to take out the education building...lol!!

I love the sound of the take off. It sounds like thunder. I remember being in the A stars and larger choppers 208's & 204's and 212's when I did forest fire fighting. I loved the sound and feeling when taking off. Man I love choppers!!

Because your a CIA-Agent not a camera man. (i couldn't help myself don't kill me, literally)

Those are cool pictures. Are you thinking of doing ROTC? If you are it is the only way to go into the army. I wish I would have went instead of the route I took.

Nah, never even thought about it really, but i am awestruck everytime i see our militarys capabilities.

Whiteman AFB in **** Noster, MO is only about 10 miles from our campus; we get B-2's, helicoptors, and A-10's flying over every day,,sometimes at REALLY low altitudes just to impress everyone.
The neatest thing was when a B-2 stealth bomber came in over campus one day---IT WAS HUGE!!!-i swear he couldnt have been over 500 feet off the ground....shook the hell out of everything. I was walking back from class and it went right over me....i was amazed.
I also got the privilege of seeing a B-52 that flew over one day...never realized how big they were until i actually saw one...wow!!!
i cant wait to go to a big air show...ive been to a couple but was too young to really appreciate it

God Bless our military!!
