I guess I'm not driving my truck for a while.

I've got some things wrong with my back that cause me to have lots and lots of weakness and more than a little pain. For the longest time all the trouble was just in my left leg; but this past Friday my right leg started giving me trouble, and now I can't get up into my truck, I don't have the strength anymore to step up into it.

Stupid disc problems. I guess I'm driving grandpa's Buick again until it's fixed or I can't walk at all.

Just wanted to bitch.

That sucks. But life is what we make of it and we play the cards we are dealt to the best of our ability. Sure wish I could carry some of that load so you might be able to enjoy your truck though.

Have you tried a chiropractor? They can sometimes help, and sometimes not. Just don't let them talk you into going once a week or more.

That sux Eyescream. Back problems are no fun. I agree with Frank though, try a Chiropractor, they can do some awesome things that medicine can never accomplish.

Hope you get better and back in the truck soon.

I feel for you pal.

My spine and nerve history is a mile long; I know what you're going through.

had a recent MRI?

Be careful, one wrong move and you might lose control of your bodily functions...

Get weller soon.

I feel your pain. I've got some serious issues with my back as well, been taking 10/325 Hydrocodone pain pills for two weeks just so I can move about. Sure hope you get feeling better soon.

That was the first thing I tried. They helped with the pain for a little while, but weren't able to treat what was actually wrong.

I've had two MRIs, showing that I've got four discs that aren't doing what they should be. One is at the very bottom of my lumbar spine at L5, and the other three are spread around my thoracic spine at T3, T5, and T9.

My only other options right now are either Vax-D, which I don't entirely trust will take care of it on any long term basis if at all; or surgery, which i can't do quickly because i don't have any insurance or money (although I'm waiting to hear whether or not I've been accepted to state-run insurance).

This sucks. Hydrocodone and ice doesn't even touch the pain now, and my legs are on fire. I can't sleep anywhere but the floor for more than an hour or so, and sitting up like I am now makes me want to stab myself.

are you laying on your stomach? if not, you should be. Your leg problems are coming from your lumbar problem, usually arching your back in a 'superman' type position will help alleviate the pressure. First person I ever heard of that had thoracic disc issues; anything cause it?

He's probably tried it already, but he can try putting a pillow(s) under his back in a way to help the natural curve of his spine. My brothers' back has been giving him problems ever since he had a slip and fall when he was about 20. He has been avoiding surgery, but in your case it may be all you can do. Hope you feel better.

They want to give me a cortizone shot but why would I want to cover up the pain??? When I herniated it the pain shot all the way down to my toes in my right leg......couldnt drive for a month. It sucked but I got through it

I've been afraid to lie on my stomach, since everybody's told me not to. Whenever I'm lying down I'll prop my knees up with a pillow, but never did it under my lower back because i'm afraid of stressing out the injuries more from weird pressure on them. might give it a shot tonight, though. Every time I sit up for longer than a few minutes (like when I'm at home working or writing a paper or something) I keep a pillow under my back and it seems to help.

If I had to guess where my thoracic injuries came from, I'd say they're not really causing any problems and have been there ever since I started practicing martial arts again a few years ago. I had to relearn how to fall, and since I was taking several different arts and all the sparring was just about full contact, that was a steep *** learning curve.

Anyway, I'm doing a nerve conductor study here in the next couple days, and hopefully I'll find out more then. I hope so anyway. I'm tired of feeling like I've got lead weights strapped to my ankles.

if you have a lumbar disc compressing leg nerves, and your doctors tell you not to lie on your stomach, I'd start looking for new doctors...

that's the first PT exercise they should give you...

I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night...

Part of the excersizes i was given involve laying on my stomach, but as far as sleeping on my stomach or something like that that involves long periods of time, I was told not to.

I don't go to that guy anymore anyway, since none of their adjustments really made much of a difference except for pain.
