Love the V-max......The greatest muscle bike ever built!!!!! It's kinda funny that everyone has come out w/ so called brand new power cruisers, V-Rod, Rocket III, etc........Yet Yamaha has been making the original power cruiser, for what, over 15 years now. It also makes me laugh that Yamaha has not made any significant changes to MAD MAX and yet it can keep up and even blow the rear tires off just about every new cruiser on the road, including V-ROD.

I hope one day I have a V-MAX in my arsenal. I currently own a 650 V-Star. not the fastest bike around, but probably the best entry level crusiser you can buy. I've done a few mods so I can keep up w/ the FAT BOYS out there. I added a Thunder hypercharger, and I did my own gut and slash to my pipes. You wouldn't believe what those two minor mods did to the attitude of my bike.

same here, but I was thinking more along the lines of a civic. I've owned a civic before and it was a great little car. Plus I know a civic will last upwards of 200K if taken care of.

The hypercharger is the next mod on my list. I don't know if it actually increases power but it looks just too freak'in cool to pass up! .......wish I had a larger version sticking out of my F150 hood! haha!

I did the hyper charger and the pipes at the same time so it's kinda hard to say which one changed my bike so much. Probably a combination of the two. I think it also depends on the kind of bike you have. My 650 does not have much power in the first place, so any increase is really noticable. I can tell you that my low end torque seemed to improve 1-2 shift was a lot later. Also I do not rev as much on the highway, (example), Before the mods 80 mph was a total vibrate fest. Seemed like it would throw me off the bike, especially two-up. Now the wife and I can ride two-up full gear (saddle bags filled plus overfilling T-bag), at 80mph no problem at all. We are not very heavy people, but that's still pretty good for only 650 cc's.

One other thing I did w/ the hypercharger that is awesome. I'm sure you seen the charger since you are going to buy one, but you know how the butterfly's open up when you really twist the throttle. Well I ran 2 blue LED'S in each butterfly valve chamber, so when those butterflys open upeople coming at you strait on or people in front of you can see the trick LED'S inside the hypercharger. It's a very inexpensive upgrade that really make's heads turn.
