Another (vs) Thread: Blue Angles vs Thunderbirds

Air Show season is underway-

Who's bad?

US Air Force Thunderbirds, or the Navy's BLue Angels...
I've always preferred the Air Force over the Navy (Mainly because of the F-15)
But, the only team I've ever seen is the Blue Angels.
Let's just say watching them perform over the San Francisco bay, gave me a newfound respect for the F/A-18.

I still prefer the T-Birds, because we all know the F-16 is bad ****. What do you guys think?

Or the Blue Angels...

Yep, to see two of these bad boy do a power stall and go past the crowd at like 40 MPH with a high-angle of attack, then one powers ahead, full AB, and the other powers stright up; that is something to see... I knew the F-15 & 16 could do it, I saw an F-18 crash trying that years ago (circa 87); tryign to do like the F-15 did...

They pulled it off that day, and he powered up and up, until we couldn't see him any more.

I like them both. They both do an excellent job. If I have to pick one, it would be the Thunderbirds, only because they were the ones I saw first. At that time they were flying F100s, which tells you how far back that was.

Being a USAF veteran, I have to give my nod to the Thunderbirds. Taking nothing away from the Blue Angles, and no disrespect!

They are both incredible.

But I would think that the F-16 would have a maneuverability advantage over the F-18, since it's smaller & lighter...?

Seen both a several times, incluidng in F4 Phantoms, A4 Skyhawks, F16 & F18.

Since I was born on an Air Force base, I will go with the Thunderbirds for sentimental reasons. But as far as skill and the entertainment value of the show, it is a tie, IMO.

Well my brother is in flight school to become a Navy pilot (he's looking to go helicopters) but he is currently training at an Air Force base on Oklahoma... so I'm going to give the nod to the guys who land their planes on a pitching, moving aircraft carrier deck. Blue Angles by a hair.

Blue angels. Their paint and planes are cooler.
