Old-school video games - looking back

Remember those games you used to play as a kid? Sega Genesis, NES, etc.? Looks like many of them were a bit perverted...

Heres an interesting look at them that you may not have considered:

I take it this isn't work-safe seeing the word sexual in the url..

I'll have to peep it from home.

But, if you relly want to go old-school video games, you must rewind to Atari 2600. I had that and I can go all the way back to "Pong" and "Combat!"

As far as Old School video games, I will always slip a quarter into these games if I ever see them again:

Galaga
Zaxxon
Elevator Action
Ms. Pac Man
Pac Man
Asteriods
Defender
Space Invaders (Was that cool background music, or what?)
Mortal Kombat (The original)

I never played Zelda, but I can't tell you how many hours we spent "Saving the Princess" on Super Mario Brothers on the Nintendo back in 1989/1990. Level 8/4.

We got so good that we could often save the Princess on the first man.

Donkey Kong was fun too; although I never quite got good at that.

Contra was nice..

I still remember the code on Sega Genesis to turn the blood on, on MK for Genesis: abacabb.

Or, the one to get into the nitty gritty of the games controls: dullard (dn, up, left, left, "A", right, down) during the intro screen.

I wasn't lucky enough to have a Genesis...mom would only buy the NES.

Does anyone remember the football game from the atari? We used to kill that game, but we had to have the one rule. No running backwards to get to the other side of the screen. this was very useful when getting burned by your friend...

It's pretty tame. The text that is written has some 4-letter words, but it's not graphic or anything. And the images are screen grabs from the games.

Anybody remember Moonwalker or Toe, Jam n' Earl from Sega?

Here's another one you might like Copenhagen:

Chrono Trigger for the SNES.

Fun game - and looooong too.
