Home Invasion style robbery is what scares me the most, and if a sum-betch comes in my house, and I can get to my gun, I will do my best to ensure they leave my house by way of a coroner.

About my car, man- that's tricky. If I can see they are little kids, I'd be pised- and may just suck it up and go. But if they hurt my wife or child, then I'd take personal interest in seeing the person that hurt my family, suffer.

because of "W", I now have national concealed carry.
been on several suicide-by-police scenes, one was a real looking pellet gun, the policeman in question was a swat officer. felt sorry but he knew when he signed up that there was the possibility he might be forced to act.
I carried every day since I was 21, Law Enforcement for 13 years.
If the bad guys thinks you are not an easy target because you might be carring, a crime was averted, however if the bad guy still strikes and the policemans wife pulls a her weapon and has to take reasonable action, so be it.
it's all a matter of choice, and I choose to carry.
as far as the kids with the pellet gun taking pot shots at passing cars, that is a very dangerous crime, which could cause a fatality accident. If they did it once more than likely they will do it again report it to your local police/sheriffs dept. no satisfaction contact the state police

I have a loaded 12 gauge in my closet not 10 feet from my bed. "edited" Thought about it and now the gun sits in the gun rack in the closet the shells right under it and in the boot cover. I sleep with a knife under my pillow, so you had beter beleave that if someone comes into my house they beter be ready to take me out before I take them out. The way I see it if someone breaks into your house armed or not you are threatened at the point of entrance without permission. So therefore you are legel by me to defend your home.

Please note I have no kids so the loaded gun is at my reach only this is important also sleep alone and the knife is in a snap tight sheth so it is safe under my pillows.

It is sad that people have to think like this but in my area there has been more and more reported breaking and entering and holding families at gun point until the robery is over so far no deaths during roberies however the other night my uncle who live only 10 mins. away throught town heard gun shots and then saw police all over the place so it is becoing more aboundent therefore I am more than ready to protect myself. Things might change as I will be getting married next year.

I am a pro gun guy. But I also advocate taking into consideration consequences. In a perfect world, the only use of a gun would be to hunt for food, not to kill one another. I'd prefer to settle up fist to fist, no weapons at all. Only a coward would shoot in a situation where a good azz kicking would suffice. But I am realistic enough to know there are a myriad of circumstances that are all unique and would require a gun.

I can't give an opinion about the situation you had with those thugs because I haven't been in that situation. All I know is that I have a horrible temper and I'm sure I would have been quite pissed off too particularly if my children were with me. I have nightmares about killing people that cross my family and then I end up locked in jail and watching my kids grow up without me. That keeps me grounded. Again, think before you act. Just my 2 cents.

 

Ok, but what if that person was about to shoot you and probably kill you, would that change your mind on killing someone who hasen't killed anyone yet....?? I mean....it's kill or be killed in that kind of situation. And without a gun, how could you defend yourself??? a knife might work, but is alot harder to use effectively, and yeah...you get the drift... Yeah, people fireing shots for no reason is bad, but if it's a life or death situation, there won't be anything stopping my finger from pulling the trigger.

I totally agree, they should have a more effective punishment than prison.....besides we spend more on taxes for prisons taking care of prisoners every year.....why not teach them a real lesson and solve our huge defecit by phazing out some prosons. How much less do you think a fireing squad would cost compared to all this lethal injection crap???? THe cost of what....10 bullets? And you die just as fast and painlessly, just a little more greusome...

 

where i live, if a little kid shot at me with a pellet gun, i'd stop and find out who he was. next, i would approach his parents and lean on them a little. i don't have a problem with guns, or, the use of guns. but, i personaly, have a pretty short fuse. so i don't have one. but, if someone breaks into my house, they better kill me quick.

 

I've got the perfect solution to save our taxes on imprisonment. Roughly instead of prison send them to an extremely tough criminal Boot camps. No real training envolved just a lot of work and harassment to alter thier attitudes. Then as our first line of defense during a conflict, we can strap parachutes and tracker anklets to them then drop them into the war zone were crates of rifles are waiting for them. But they do not have acess to rifles until then. If they accomplish _____ missions then they qualify for a parole hearing. If they die trying then I guess God thought they were quilty...

It needs a little fine tuning but you get the idea. Make them useful to society instead of wasting our resources on them.
