Don’t sweat it man, there are NO real liberals here anyway. Liberals don’t drive gas guzzling F150’s…

I couldn't tell you what the difference is. All I know is that every day I encounter a bunch of people working thier a$$e$ off, to make a living wage and pay thier share of the tax burden. Then I see and hear of all the "disenfranchised, unemployed, unambitious, unwilling to accept responsability for thier own actions", demanding they get thier fair share.

Hey, I live in a city who's government is a state appointed control board. This city is on the verve of being in recievership, that is the state takes over. There is way too much crime and not enough police. The schools are falling apart. We've got the lowest paid teachers in the country, who haven't had a contract for several years thus have to deal with a pay freeze. The children will be the ones who suffer in the short term, and all who end up staying here will suffer much, much longer. The poor homeless can't understand why the city won't give them a building to stay in. No one ever says a word about the huge pensions that former city employees are collecting, and no one is willing to change anything to make pensions more reasonable. There are nintey-nine percent of the people benefiting from what the city, state and federal government collect in taxes though in this city only around fifty percent pay in. Of thoes, there are a lot who not only pay in nothing, no realestate tax, no income tax, no exise tax, maybe sales tax (but how with no income?) they take, take, take from what the rest of us have put in. Make sense to you?

If not wanting a society where thoes who work hard also are required to carry the burden of thoes who don't makes me a "conservative" then I guess that's what I am. I am actually a compationate guy. I think it's ok to help "some" of the people, because there truely are some who need help. The numbers shouldn't be anywhere near fifty/fifty though.

If wanting to convince people that no matter what they do, no matter how many mistakes they make, no matter how many poor choices they make, there will always be a helping "hand-out" is liberal, then I want to do everything I can to keep that from being the prevailing opinion. There is ALWAYS a consequence for my actions, as it should be for everyone, equally.

And further more, I'm not all that fond of the fog light cut out feature. They look cool when thier on and they aren't "that" bright. Why do they have to turn off when we switch to high beams? Am I liberal when it comes to fog light useage? Actually I don't even have fog lights on my F150. I had them in my Contour and my Ranger. All they really did was look cool, and I don't believe thay actually helped my vision, or made me any more visable to others, in the fog.

Lib. or Cons.

I was with most of you guys for a long time. I really paid little attn. to politics and did not feel that there was a polititian worth voting for. I was neither conservative nor liberal. I was just an American, trying to make the best living for my wife and kids.....Then came 9/11/01 and everything changed for me (as I am from N.J., 40 minutes S. of Manhattan) I realized that I had better wake up and pay close attention to what was going on in the world. After watching and listening to a lot of talk radio and news, I found myself having very little in common with the way Dems. and liberals think and perceive the world. So I became a registered Republican as this is the side I have most in common with, and read/listen to all the politics/world news I can. I'm not a die hard Christian but believe that those who are have every right to be, and disrespecting the flag and country are wrong. As for war, hey no one wants to see anyone die, most of all young Americans, but sometimes war is necessary. Where would we be today if we did not defeat Hitler? How has appeasing terrorist acts for decades done anything to make this a better more peacefull world? The Libs love to say we have created all these terrorists today. Please... they have always been there, and finally we have a President who means what he says and does what he means. Even if it meant he may not be re-elected. You do not have to like our President, but I believe you should respect the office of Presidency. I did not vote for nor care for Clinton but He was my President, who's hand I once had the luck to shake.

Damn! Sorry for the rant
Scott

Agreed...

I'm not a huge Bush fan, but once the dust settled, he is the President and as such- I will support him- just as much as I would were I still in uniform...

But, I was and still am a Clinton fan. Not that he did so much for me; but because the man was down to earth, cool as a cumcumber and he never let them see him sweat.

Many guys say Bush is a guy you can sit back and have a few beers with; if Clinton isn't a guy you could drink a few beers with and comment on a few tight @$$e$ as it walks by, who is?
