I agree with the decisions our leaders of the time made, I would have dropped the bomb as well. It can't be an easy decision to make, the lives of so many in your hands, but the lives of so many were in their hands no matter what they did. I believe they took all into account and made the best decision based on the facts and prospects.

I think we did the right thing.

Plus, you can talk about how afterwards, we rebuilt Japan, and they adopted our "work strategy" and have now become one of the most productive countries in the world.

I'd have dropped the bomb also.

I'm sure many many people (people all over the world) HATE us becuase we killed so many civilians. Unlike Japan that attacked a miliatry base and aimed at killing the military. we killed Civilians.

Also, I'm no t too crazy how we rounded up all the Japanese on the west coast and put them in concentration camps.

we made errors during the war, so did everyone else.

HOWEVER, we did not defeat Germany. Contrary to what we are taught in our history books, the Germans surrendered to the U.S.S.R. not the USA.

I think many americans would be surprised if we were taught in school what ACTUALLY happened...

I recall watching propoganda movies in class (Late 70's) against Russia and the "Evil Empire".

Yup, I'm a brainwashed citizen of the USA.
Are you out of your mind?Japanese Americans were not put in CONCENTRATION CAMPS They were pit in Internment camps as were many Germans,Italians and other people. There is a big differance between the 2.Just because the Germans surrendered to the Russians do you think The USA did not defeat the Germans, who invaded Normandy and liberated the French?Who defeated Romel in North Africa?Who saved Scicily from the Axis. You certainly are brainwashed,do you realize that by wars end the Russians were a rag tag joke of an army with little or no leadership.I just can`t believe that there are people like you who are so gullable to fall right in to line with a bunch of BS revisionist propaganda.Have you ever spoken to a WWII vet ? I have many times and believe me you have got it all wrong GRRRRRRR.

Not many- if anyone on the board believed that the ****'s surrendered to the Russians. They probably were surrenderign to whomever would accept surrender (i.e. Iraqi Army surrenders to CNN news crew); when they saw the end was nigh... Waving a white flag beats taking a few hot ones to the chest...

I provided everyone with the Instrument of Surrender for both Japan and Germany.

In both instances, the enemy surrendered to the Allies- no matter who took the signature....
