I do have to say that your BFG's look awsome Tuff! I think I'm going to do the same thing with the 18's. I hope it looks as good as yours.

Wow TUFF, that really sucks. How bad's the damage? We lived in Texas for a while and I've seen what that kind of hail can do. We were lucky, made it out of the state with only 1 hail dent on the Ranchero we had at the time. We used to haul *** to the nearest overpass and hang out under it until the hail blew over. Hope your truck came out without too much damage.

thought about just driving down to the gas station and hanging out under the awning. I'd be "that guy"!
Been there done that. A week after I picked up my truck, I drove into a hail storm. Luckily I had just passed an Exxon and did an immediate U-turn and was the first one under the canopy. The hail was blowing almost sideways from the strong winds. I positioned the truck so that the hail would miss be from the wind or if it starting falling straight down. Other people were blowing their horns and crap trying to get me to pull in further, but it just wasn't happening for them....

Have since been at home and used all the blankets in the house to cover up quickly during hail storms. Wife was none to happy about that!

Seems that every other storm in the spring in the SE turns into a hail storm this time of year. We got it yesterday also Tuff, but it was pea sized thank goodness. Of course, my truck has 5 hunting seasons on it, the scratches don't buff out completely anymore, so maybe it is time for me to go find a hail storm!

Sorry to hear about the potential damage TUFF.

About 20 years ago, my Dad bought a cheap car cover, then bought a couple of pieces of styrofoam insulation (maybe 1/2 inch thick). He cut the insulation in pieces that covered, the hood, trunk, and top of his car, then sewed cloth strips on the inside of the car cover. He slipped the styrofoam pieces into the strips and placed the cover over his car whenever it looked like a storm was approaching. Once he got it tied down, it did a great job of protecting his car. Very cheap protection from hail.

I'm so used to typing the word 'paint' up in the DETAILING forum that it just came out that way...

I really don't want to feel anything that you own Tuff. Sorry. That's why I haven't responded to your three emails...
