I too I'm rooting for Martin. He's come in 2nd place in points in several occasions. He's one of the most layed back car driver's out on the circuit. I had the privliage to go down and watch the 500.
I left a week ago Tuesday and got back this past Monday night. Went to the Twin 150's, Bush Race, and the BIG ONE! It was my first time to a race, and hopefully not my last one. The pure power of those car's are just awesome. You don't get that feeling watching them on the Tele.
The weather down there was great, compared to what we got here in Illinois. I got a burnt nose, and a cold. {probably should've stayed out of the swimming pool until the water had time to warm up}

i was lucky..i went to the 500 in 1984 before restrictor plates...that is when they really went fast..220 down the backstrech... we were sitting in the stands just b-4 turn 3 where the speeds were the fastest...it was awesome! you did'nt hear anything..you saw all the cars in a line coming at you and when they passed WOW what a rush!(cale won that yr i believe in the hardys car)...if anyone goes to daytona in the future...across the street from the speedway...behind hooters ...theres a place called "nitro park"..go there and drive REAL 8 second dragsters!..3 passes for 10 bucks (that was the cost 2 yrs ago anyway)...is such a deal!(here's a hint if you do drive the dragsters,dont wait till 5 grand to shift..short shift (around 4500) and you will go way faster than everyone else! WHAT FUN!!!!!!...zap!

 

well nascar has started the spanking procedure they are so famous for..robby gordon's crew cheif..50 grand..and car owner is now -25 pointsfor a unapproved intake...rickey rudd's cheif 25 grand a crew member suspended 'till mar 31and docked the woods bros. 24 points for "unapprovedspoiler adjustments" juniors crew chief and john andretti"s crew cheif10 grand apice and lots of others in the busch and truck series had to pay up...wich leads me to ask..who's pockets does all that cash end up?..and does'nt everyone have to go thru inspection BEFORE qualifing..and the cars impounded after?..so how DOES one get away(sort of) with a bad INTAKE MANIFOLD?...zap
