PSP: Hot or Not?

Ok nerds, get ready.. in about 5 short weeks the Sony Playstation Portable is going to hit the store shevles in the US. Who's gonna get one? It has sparked my interest... PS2 games on the go... pretty impressive for a handheld unit, and the screen is supposed to be top-notch. I call a hot on this one.

No thanks. It'll be too exensive for the first year. Games will be too expensive as well. I like my X Box. I hardly play it as it is.

Well, sounds like I hear 'Taps' in the background for Nintendo.

In the end, there'll only be: X-Box and Playstation.

Bill Gates went easy on Sony, because if it had been me; the X-box would e able to play PC games too...

But, I have a Killer Instinct, when it comes to business, Wal-Mart should hire me.

I'll buy a PSP when they get the square button issues worked out.
Quote from Shacknews:
In a recent interview, SCE president Ken Kutaragi disclosed that over 4,800 Japanese gamers have sent in their PSPs for repair due to issues with the square button. The complaint is that the button is not sensitive enough, requiring it be pressed stronger than the others. Kutaragi admitted that it wasn't an issue with the PSP as it was part of the design. Because of its close proximity to the screen, the sensor under the button is a bit misaligned. Kutaragi stated, "This is the design that we came up with. There may be people that complain about its usability, but that's something which users and game software developers will have to adapt to. I didn't want the PSP's LCD screen to become any smaller than this, nor did I want its machine body to become any larger."

I did tech support for a local ISP with only +/- 4 thousnad customers for almost a year...The second 1/2 I worked a split shift training some new people. I worked from noon till 8pm during that time. You would think it would get busier when everyone got off work and school...NO...It slows down...I have never been that bored at work in my life! I literaly found the last page of the internet several times while doing that shift! But I have lots of stories to tell and had lots of laughs too plus I learned a lot from the experince. Every tech should have to go through that atleast once for a year or two! LOL

Yeah, Nintendo's next-gen system has got to be killer and they have to get away from the 'kiddy' market. If I were Gates I'd be worried right now, since that Cell chip in the next PS3 is going to spank the crap out of the weak Power-based architecture the next-gen X-box is going to run on. X-box better enjoy it's superiority right now, cuz I don't think its going to last... Sony's pissed!

I think $250 for the PSP is too high as well. I may wait and see how it pans out. I might pay $199 tops for it. And games better be only $30, not freakin $50 like the consoles.... then again, there are rumors next-gen console games may reach for the $99/game mark. Bastards!

The screens are too small, there is no way I can see the darn things. I'll have to stick with the big screen one at home...

I was really interested in these last summer when I first heard about it, but when I saw how long the wait was, and the projected price I bought the retro version GBA SP, and for a portable I really like it.

If they turn out as cool as all the hype implies, and the price comes down I would love to have one...
