Would you 04-05 STX owners please post up some pics of your trucks? I saw a Silver "Flareside" STX going through a long tunnel the other day, and I thought it was the best looking truck I've ever laid my eyes on. I'm going to buy an 05 STX 4x4 this summer, and would just like to see your rides so I can drool.

mine is the STX Heritage...not a step side...I saw a black 05 STX and man....what a gorgeous truck.

 

with an STX, get a 3.73 rear in it. They really should have a 4.10, as you can only get them with a 4.6l. An fx4 has the same grille and colored bumpers, but is mucho more cash.

 

Nice truck inbred. I like that charcoal gray color. The STX is enough for me because I don't need an FX4 or a Lariat. I don't tow or haul very large loads. Plus I like the fact you can get the rubber/vinyl (easy to clean!) flooring and crank windows on the STX models. Plus the color matching bumpers, I like that too.

I have the same truck as you. Just a different color. Yeap, those new fords are the shiznit.

I have a twin in Athens. Before I tinted my windows and added my tool box anyway. Back in January (last year) I was trying to unlock his truck at Wal~Mart, he came up behind me and said, "What the he|| do you think your doing"?

I said, "leaving". He said, "thats my truck". I said, "really, I highly dought that, then I saw my truck in the next lane over......I said "oops", we both laughed and said...NICE TRUCK.

 

Why did I say all that?

 

I don't know, but it was a pretty good story. It could've happened to anybody.

I'm not saying an FX4 is better than a STX. Just showing what you get for that "mucho more cash". I like the "look" of both but for me, I gotta have power locks and windows so it had to be an FX4. (don't like the chrome bumpers on the XLT)

 

Thanks for the comparison RWN. But the STX is more "in my price budget" since I'm fresh out of college. I don't want to jump off the deep end right out of the gate. I'm saving for a down payment on a house, so...

I'm luvin my STX too!!! I do wished I had the 5.4L though. How many of you would have gotten the 5.4L if it had been an option?

 

When I was in the USAF ('87 - 91) I had a couple guys in my shop who drove Fords. One had an Escort and the other had a new Bronco. The Bronco key could open the Escort .

I have a friend at work who has a Mercury Sable wagon. He went into Walmart and when he came out and jumped in what he thought was his car (again his key opened it no problem) and then he wondered why it wouldn't start. He looked around and saw toys and a baby seat and realized it wasn't his car .

 

What about the "old" STX? I agree that the new one is cool looking. Theres a good chance I'd be driving one if they offered the 3V 5.4.
