Honda
Unibody constuction? No V-8? 5000# towing? 1100# payload?
$27-32K price?
Why would any serious truck buyer get the Honda when they could get an F-150 for less: it has a V-8, up to 9800#'s of towing, up to 3000#'s of payload, and a real fully boxed frame?
I didn't pay but $32K for a SD, but the SD doesn't have a compartment for a cooler
.

That's the key, Honda builds a quality product. My wife has an Accord, the dealership is fantastic, you can't get any better. Two FORD dealerships I've used here s@ck! Total difference in customer service, that's for sure...

Simply put, the Ridgeline isn't targeted at the serious truck buyer. For the people who wanted an SUV but want something they can get a bit dirty and/or fit more awkwardly shaped cargo the Ridgeline may seem an ideal solution.

Edit: For some reason it will not allow me to delete those double paragraphs.

Interesting. It'll prolly sell many units based on the all show and no go concept. As far a 1/2 ton pick up goes. I thought all of the truck calssified as 1/2 ton were actually 1 tons. Look at the F150, isn't the Chovie, Dodge, and other imposters around the 3000 payload level now. I thought in order to get a truck with 1000# of payload capacity you had to buy a small truck (Ranger, S-10 or what ever they're called now, Dakota).
None of the light-dutys have a payload nearign 3,000 lbs. But, they are approaching 1-ton (2,000 lbs). I think the F-150 has a payload capacity of 1,880 lbs or so~ the highest in the class, unless the Titan took that claim too.
The Honda will do well- it's more truck than 90% of us truckers routinely use anyway. It's just not as big, and won't be as thirsty; but it will be a Honda- which means you can drop a frickin' anvil on the engine from the top of the Empire State Bldg, and the truck will still br ready for a cross-country trek.
