I worked my a$$ off my junior and senior years in high school and bought my old 83' f150. Paid my own insurance, maintenance, tires, paint job, etc. I can't recall of anybody ever messing with it. But I do remember leaving my headlights on in the morning numerous times and draining my battery! I hate to hear what happened with your truck SouthernPride. If you find out who did it, keep an eye on them but don't say anything. If it happens again don't use a ball bat, use your fists!

Excellent advice BREW. Sorry to hear about the vandalism on your truck SP, I hate it when people have so little regard for the property of others that they feel the need to behave in such a manner. I hope you will listen to some of the advice being given here and try to ignore the incident. I know that won't be easy but playing into their hands won't help you much. Hope you can get the paint off of everything and get your truck all slicked up again.

Thanks a lot guys. I did eventually get the paint off, but I had to wash it like 3 times. It got in all kinds of little cracks and crevices. I came to school today and someone had seen it happen and told me who it was. I'm not going to say anything to them, but they know that I know they did it and that is enough for me. I've cooled off since yesterday. Once again thanks, it means a lot to me. It's real nice to be part of a comunitee that appreciates the things you do and supports you even though you've never seen or heard of me before.

I've never been the target of random malice against my person or property- but I can tell you; if I ever cought someone defacing my car, they'd better be armed, and be faster than I am.

Nothing is more irritating to me than an SOB that has no respect for other people or their property. (Bumping into people and not saying excuse me, opening their cars doors into yours, leaving their shopping carts against your car; or leaving it where it can roll into your vehicle; etc.) I can deal with people bumping into me and not saying excuse me. Being in Germany with those rude bas7ards taught me to ignore that- to an extent. (It's their culture- I don't think they think they're being rude.) But to deface someone's property is indeed a B-Move.

If you have a problem- talk to or handle that person man to man, or woman to woman, (Or woman to man). To stoop to ruining a person's vehicle is cowardly; something a punk would do.

So, take pride in knowing that whoever did this to you is not man enough to face you- knuckle to knuckle; so he (or she) had to damage your property as a way of hurting you. I had a car my Junior year, and that automatically makes you more popular with the girls and more hated by the guys. That just goes with the turf... It's just bad when people let jealously get the best of them....

That said; you didn't take anyone's girlfriend did you?

SP,

Sorry to hear about the bad luck. When I was in HS about 8 years ago, I had an '82 TransAm that I bought from an 80 year old man that had owned it since it was new. It was in absolute show-room condition with two tone red and black paint, leather seats, etc. I came outside one day and found a HUGE dent on the top of my hood that looked like it could not be repaired. Found a few days later that a friend of mine had done it on accident. He was 'screwing around' and tried to throw a hammer from the front of the parking lot into the creek in the back of the parking lot. As luck would have it, it landed right on my car which was parked about the second to last car in the lot..... I was furious as you were, and yet really couldn't go beat the snot out of a relatively good friend that made a bone-headed decision because he was a relatively good friend and did not damage my car on purpose..... Needless to say, things were never quite the same between us. A year or so later I finally saved up enough money and got it fixed... Atleast in your case, you hopefully won't have any permanent damage..... Get yourself a power sprayer, and clean it up, and hopefully all will be well. I agree with you on the way teenagers are now days..... I guess all you can say is that everyone in the world is somewhere along the evolution-process. Some have a lot farther to go then others. Hopefully in time, they will figure it out and grow up.....

best of luck

Hey man, glad to hear you got all the paint off. Thats also cool you know who did it, and they know you know they did it. Im sure they wont do it again. There probably scared ****less right now wondering whats gonna happen to them.

Venting, bitchin, talkin and giving advice is what we do here. It doesnt matter that we never met you or heard of you before. Its amazing how much you can tell about a person just by reading a few of their posts. You seem pretty cool, so were glad to give you advice. So now that the truck is all clean are you gonna show us some pictures of it??

I'll get pics as soon as I can. It needs a good wash and wax. Keep in mind, like I said, it's been keyed...on both sides! It was from the previous owner though. The driver's side starts right at the front of the bed and goes to the tailight in one strip. It's all the way down to the metal...The other side is from front fender to tailight and there's two strips not as bad though...Give me a chance to clean it up and I'll have pics right up. Anyone wanna host for me?

I like my truck as you do. When I was in the Navy, I worshiped my truck. I had a friend that accidentally dented my fender with his door. I was furious too. It hurt our friendship, becuase he wasnt able to pay for it. Dont make the mistake of falling in Love with your truck. Everybody's got a story. It gets better though. But, when you get older, in the working class, people dont fire paint *****. They just go to the boss and lie behind your back. Adults gossip like kids. Expecially women. Most men just talk about huntin, fishin, trucks.
If the kid at school realy wanted to hurt you, he would have used a bat on your truck.
I remember getting so mad about getting my house T.P. ed. I wanted to fight someone over it. Kinda silly now. I own a bussiness, and to hear someone running down what I do kills me.
I have a son that is an 18 yr old senoir. He bought a 89 bronco. He is in the band (drum captain, band President). He wants to go to Clemson, because its a small frienly school. He hasnt had anything damaged yet, but about 6 girls like him. He started dating one of the them and the other 5 turned agaisnt him. He quit dating all together. He said he would rather have lots of friends than 1 girl friend. No easy answers here, just take the high road like others have said. Do your best, go to college, get a degree, take care of your family, Sleep good at night.

You probabley dont even need to take it personally..My friends and I would play practicle jokes similar to this while we were in school. Nothing to destroy anything just make them have to spend some time to clean it up. It got bad for a while to the point that we would use a jimmy to open each others doors so we could pop the hood to place and cook road kill on each others engines. They got me with gutted fish one time, YUCK!!! LOL But ours stayed pretty much inside our group. If anyone got mad we would all help clean it up and make it right!

There are the ones that do it just to be mean to somebody for no reason too and we all had to deal with those. If you laugh at thos destroy anything just make them have to spend some time to clean it up.
