Funny Old Stuff

Some of you might have already seen this....an old CBC report about a great new communications tool called "Internet"...... it's funny cause they keep calling it "Internet" instead of "The Internet"

whats amazing is how quickly we have adopted "internet" and how odd it is for some people to imagine their lives without it today. 1993 was not long ago.

truly incredible

Hell, slow wasn't the big problem, adjusting the tone and volume on the cassette recorder so it would save and retrieve was the trick.

I learned to program basic on an old Apple Corvus network that had 8 floppy drives as the storage devises. D1, D2, etc.....

While I can appreciate the advances made during your short life, I would rather of lived the from year 1900 until present. While the later years provided many refinements to the computing world, think about being around for the invention of the auto, motorcycles, war machines, space travel, supersonic speed, tv.....

What a hell of a 100 years!

There's a local classic rock DJ here (Tommy B) who calls it "the interlink". (pretty funny)

Think how far high end audio and video has come in just the last 10 years or so. I think the next generation of TV's and stereo/home theaters are going to be incredible, and probably not that far away.

I remember back when I was around 11 (1974) my mom sent me to a summer school computer programming class to keep me out of trouble. We used the old, telle-types that spit out the 1" wide yellow tape with holes.
