What a morning
Started off like normal, slap the alarm clock around a few times, stagger into the shower, get dressed for work. As I am leaving my subdivision I see a F-250 down in the ditch, being a few minutes ahead of schedule I pull over to get a better look. I ask the lady that was driving if she needed any help. She was stuck half off of the road, 2wd open diff not going anywhere. I had a tow strap in the truck so I offered to pull her out. Hooked up the trucks threw mine in 4 Lo (it was wet and that 250 powerstroke is heavy) and started to pull. Pulled about 3 ft and heard her honk her horn. Got out to find out what had happened, as I was explaining that she needed to cut her wheels to climb up the curb, some guy comes by and clips my partly open door with his mirror.
Get back in my truck pull her out and start unhooking the trucks. The guy who hit me did stop and wait to see what had happened. I looked at the door and was lucky because there only was about a 2" long scuff. He was feeling pretty bad about the whole thing and gave me his info to get it fixed. This afternoon I will get a better look but I don't think that it is bad enough to worry about. Hopefull this afternoon will get better.

Joe,
Sorry to hear about the damage. No good deed goes unpunished, as they say.
I thought you could use some company - my buddy has a F150 2WD - he was driving along and came to a red light. When the light changed, the car in front of him did not move. It had stalled, dead battery. My buddy gets out and see a young gal, and decides to help. He backs up a bit, and pulls up so he is on a 90 degree to her car, so he can jump the battery. His truck is a manual btw. He connects the cables to her battery, then walks around to his truck. He leans in to pop the hood, and instead pulls the brake release. The truck starts rolling forward. He clipped his drivers door on one of those big yellow gas pipe vents, then right into the front fender of the her car.
Her car was a beater, and although she wasn't happy about getting hit, she thanked him for the jump, and said not to worry about the dent.
So now he has a 4 inch high, 12 inch long yellow scrape on his door, and a small dent up front.
He still intends to help ladies in distress, but now he really knows the hood release from the brake release!

Wookie, sorry to hear about your morning. How did the rest of your day go? It was nice of the guy who clipped your door to pull over and give his info, so many out there would have just kept going. So see, put it in perspective...your mornig was off kilter but it could have been worse!
Hope tomorrow's better!!
Hope tomorrow's better!!
After getting a better look the mirror only scuffed the paint. It looks kine the top coat of paint was scuffed down to the primer. The door itself is fine no dents. I think that I will stop by the stealership and get one of the touchup paint sticks and be done with it. After happy hour everything was alright.
