I am sorry to report the puppy took a turn for the worse over the weekend. Vomiting blood and bloody diaria. The vet does not seem very optimistic. Looks like the virus stepped it up a notch. I will let everyone know in a couple of days if she makes it.

NTIMD8...What I'm about to tell you is something that I personally have done to save pups with parvo. Please understand that this is something that your vet would question, more than likely suggest you do not do and it is probably not practiced in the vet world. It's just found in the, good ole boy with a bunch of dogs, world.
Even if your pup received parvo shots that does not mean that they cannot get parvo. Parvo is a continually mutating virus and basically the companies that make the vaccines are just a step behind the newest strain. Very similar to us receiving a flu shot, it does not mean we will not get the flu.
Clorox bleach is the only thing that will kill the parvo virus. What I have done in the past is make a "drench" to give the pup to flush their system. I make this drench using a ratio of aprox 1 part clorox to 10 parts water. I then ever so gently, "taste" it to see if it is too strong. You will know if it is, without question. After a strong but tollerable drench is made up I give the pup about 2cc's orally. Wait a few hours and try again. More than likely the pup will vomit the drench, if so try another 2cc's soon after. Your just trying to get enough in the pups digestive tract to whack the parvo virus.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND....this can kill the pup but so will the parvo. My success rate is about 70% that live using this method. If I do nothing the success rate is 100% dead.
You can also give kao-pectate to help with the vommiting and diareha and give the pup pedalite orally to help keep it hydrated.
I feel for ya man as I know exactly where your at and it is a very helpless feeling. If you feel you're up against the wall and can't do anything else, just know it's worked for me.....let me know if I can be of any further help

I have actually heard of epople doing this in the past. It is risky but some say it gives the dog a chance. The puppy is with the vet right now and has IV hooked up to it, is given anti vomiting medication as well as antibiotics to help it get over the virus. I think I will just let the vet do what he always does. This vet has an 80% succes rate with fighting parvo. I will just let the vet do what he does and hope for the best.

Thanks for your input and kind words!

Just when things were starting to look up. So sad. Keep us informed of her condition and I'll say a prayer for her.

Sorry to report that the puppy passed away last night. Poor thing.

I urge anyone who gets a puppy to read up on Parvo and get educated on this serious virus.

I'm sorry to hear that but after all she had been through, it was probably for the best. Are you and your wife going to get another puppy? How is your wife taking it? RIP little Zipper.
