To Hollywood, From Charlie Daniels

An Open Letter To The Hollywood Bunch:

Ok let's just say for a moment you bunch of pampered, overpaid, unrealistic
children had your way and the U.S.A. didn't go into Iraq.

Let's say that you really get your way and we destroy all our nuclear
weapons and stick daisies in our gun barrels and sit around with some white
wine and cheese and pat ourselves on the back, so proud of what we've done
for world peace.

Let's say that we cut the military budget to just enough to keep the
National Guard on hand to help out with floods and fires.

Let's say that we close down our military bases all over the world and bring
the troops home, increase our foreign aid and drop all the trade sanctions
against everybody.

I suppose that in your fantasy world this would create a utopian world where
everybody would live in peace. After all, the great monster, the United
States of America, the cause of all the world's trouble would have disbanded
it's horrible military and certainly all the other countries of the world
would follow suit. After all, they only arm themselves to defend their countries
from the mean old U.S.A.

Why you bunch of pitiful, hypocritical, idiotic, spoiled mugwumps. Get your
head out of the sand and smell the Trade Towers burning. Do you think that
a trip to Iraq by Sean Penn did anything but encourage a wanton murderer to
think that the people of the U.S.A. didn't have the nerve or the guts to fight him?

Barbra Streisand's fanatical and hateful rankings about George Bush makes
about as much sense as Michael Jackson hanging a baby over a railing.

You people need to get out of Hollywood once in a while and get out into
the real world. You'd be surprised at the hostility you would find out here.
Stop in at a truck stop and tell an overworked, long-distance truck driver
that you don't think Saddam Hussein is doing anything wrong.

Tell a farmer with a couple of sons in the military that you think the
United States has no right to defend itself.

Go down to Baxley, Georgia and hold an anti-war rally and see what the folks
down there think about you.

You people are some of the most disgusting examples of a waste of protoplasm
I've ever had the displeasure to hear about.

Sean Penn, you're a traitor to the United States of America. You gave aid
and comfort to the enemy. How many American lives will your little, "fact
finding trip" to Iraq cost? You encouraged Saddam to think that we didn't
have the stomach for war.

You people protect one of the most evil men on the face of this earth and
won't lift a finger to save the life of an unborn baby. Freedom of choice
you say?

Well I'm going to exercise some freedom of choice of my own. If I see any
of your names on a marquee, I'm going to boycott the movie. I will completely
stop going to movies if I have to. In most cases it certainly wouldn't be
much of a loss.

You scoff at our military who's boots you're not even worthy to shine. They
go to battle and risk their lives so ingrates like you can live in luxury. The day of
reckoning is coming when you will be faced with the undeniable truth that the war
against Saddam Hussein is the war on terrorism.

America is in imminent danger. You're either for her or against her. There
is no middle ground.

I think we all know where you stand.

What do you think?

God Bless America!
Charlie Daniels

WTF? The Bravest and the Best of us are right on the front lines!

You don't have to have a rifle in your hand to express an opinion. Not in the United States you don't anyway. A lot of places around the world have a hole to bury you in if you express an opinion that isn't what the thug in charge says it should be. If nothing else comes from what's being done in Iraq and Afganistan, at least part of that region won't be like that anymore. Maybe it will spread to the entire region, given time. I doubt they will ever have governments that resemble ours; but, many Western nations don't have the level of freedom we do either. Most of them get their news directly from one source... Their Govt. sponsored, or ran, news outlets. Hell, FOX News is banned in Canada for Christ sake.

I believe what is meant by this comment:

Is the fact the loud mouths furthest from the battlefield, like Sean Penn who hasn’t got a clue on reality, think they are brave by going and giving comfort and aid to Saddam. The sad fact of the matter is the vast majority of those in Hollywood haven’t got a clue on reality in any logical sense.

However, these Hollywood types like Sean Penn because of their money seem to believe that because they have money they know what is good for everyone else when in fact they don’t. They are your typical liberal talking the talk but haven’t yet learned to walk.

Perfect example of this is some goofy star talking about how they care for the homeless so they go out and sleep with them for a night and now feel they understand their plight. Rather then actually walking the walk they just talk the talk. You see if they REALLY cared about the useless homeless they would get a bus and transport them to their big houses in Hollywood. There they would house them, feed them and bath them.

Nope, not the Hollywood type, they just go spend a night with them, make some headlines and then whine about how us working people should be paying more in taxes to help the useless.

If they really cared they would SHUT UP and just fork over their own cash and be done with it. Same as your typical liberal that spouts about how we don’t pay enough in taxes. If they were REALLY worried about it and wanted to do something they could always fork over more of their cash and be done with it. Last I heard the IRS never refuses a check…

Hollywood is where money turns people who use to be just naïve to complete idiots…

Remember this is the place, Hollywood, that most people think President Bush is evil but love Saddam and OBL…

Charlie Daniels knows reality and is not afraid to tell it like it REALLY is...

SSDD, What makes Charlie Daniels any smarter than any of the "evil hollywood liberals". Quote, "these Hollywood types like Sean Penn because of their money seem to believe that because they have money they know what is good for everyone else when in fact they don’t" If Sean Penn has no clue, what gives Charlie one?

Oh yeah, he agrees with YOU so he MUST be right! Same crap as the Linda Rondstat episode, entertainers should shut up, except when the agree with me.

First off, I thought there wasn't supposed to be any more of these threads.

Secondly, if you are going to post a letter from Charlie Daniels' website why use one from nearly two years ago?

Isn't the one he wrote after the '04 election more appropiate now?.....

"Healing

Anybody who reads this column with any degree of regularity knows that I am ecstatic about the election. I thank God that George W. Bush was reelected.

However, I don’t feel like gloating or rubbing it in. This country is divided by ideology, hate and downright myths and it’s time for the healing to begin.

I blame a lot of our division on politicians whose self-serving rhetoric and downright lies proliferate dissension and class envy. Some of the blame can also be laid at the feet of some minority leaders who do more disservice than good to the people they are supposed to be serving by embracing the fallacy that the government should take care of them from cradle to grave and that all their troubles are caused by another race.

The mass media in this country is also responsible for much of the turmoil between the left and right, endlessly pitting one side against the other resulting at times in vitriolic hate and often times the perpetuation of vicious lies.

I don’t believe that George Bush went to war for the benefit of Halliburton or for oil. I don’t believe that John Kerry, if he had been elected, would send our sons and daughters off to war for such a shallow reason. It’s unthinkable that anybody short of an Osama Bin Ladin would sacrifice their children just to increase an oil supply or make the price of a company’s stock rise.

I believe in the basic good of the American people and feel that politicians woefully underestimated the morals factor in this election proven by the passing of a resolution defining marriage as being between a man and a woman which passed in all eleven states where it was on the ballot. Partial birth abortion also played a role in this election.

There will never be a time when all Americans will feel the same way about every issue. But I feel that we have more common ground than we realize.

We desperately need to find that common ground and emphasize
It. We all want what’s best for America; we just have different ideas as to what that may be.

We can’t leave this to the politicians. Although there are good men and women in government, there are others whose interests are better served by the dumbing down of America, by keeping us at each other’s throats.

The Michael Moores of this world who seek to destroy good men with groundless insinuations and gross lies are dangerous. As dangerous as the **** propaganda machine which played a role in the German’s blind hatred for the Jews.

I reach out to all Americans to begin the healing process. We may not agree on the issues but the least we can do is show each other a little respect.

If your candidate lost remember you’ll have another chance in
four more years, that’s the American way.

God Bless America!

Charlie Daniels

Either way, many of you called Linda Rondstat and Sean Penn names, but applaud Charlie. You either support celebrities getting involved with politics or you don't. It's simply wrong to support it when it suits your needs.

01, you wish buddy!

Talking

momalle1, your post reminded me of the Dixie Chicks apology after they said they were ashamed of Bush.

Here it is....

"As a concerned American citizen, I apologize to President Bush because my remark was disrespectful. I now realize that whoever holds that office should be treated with the utmost respect.

I hope everyone understands, I'm just a young girl who grew up in Texas. As far back as I can remember, I heard people say they were ashamed of President Clinton. I saw bumper stickers calling him everything from a pothead to a murderer. I heard people on the radio and tv like Rush Limbaugh, Pat Robertson, Newt Gingrich and Trent Lott bad mouthing the President and ridiculing his wife and daughter at every opportunity.

I heard LOTS of people disrespecting the President. So I guess I just assumed it was acceptable behavior.

But now, thanks to the thousands of angry people who want radio stations to boycott our music because criticizing the President is unpatriotic, I realize it's wrong to have a liberal opinion if you're a country music artist. I guess I should have thought about that before deciding to play music that attracts hypocritical red necks.

I also realize now that I'm supposed to just sing and look cute so our fans won't have anything to upset them while they're cheating on their wives or getting in drunken bar fights or driving around in their pickup trucks shooting highway signs and small animals.

And most important of all, I realize that it's wrong for a celebrity to voice a political opinion, unless they're Charlie Daniels, Clint Black, Merle Haggard, Barbara Mandrell, Loretta Lynn, Ricky Skaggs, Travis Tritt, Hank Williams Jr, Amy Grant, Larry Gatlin, Crystal Gayle, Reba McEntire, Lee Greenwood, Lorrie Morgan, Anita Bryant, Mike Oldfield, Ted Nugent, Wayne Newton, **** Clark, Jay Leno, Drew Carey, Dixie Carter, Victoria Jackson, Charleton Heston, Fred Thompson, Ben Stein, Bruce Willis, Kevin Costner, Arnold Schwartzenegger, Bo Derek, Rick Schroeder, George Will, Pat Buchanan, Bill O'Reilly, Joe Rogan, Delta Burke, Robert Conrad or Jesse Ventura.

God Bless America,
Natalie

Wrong. I support the candidates I agree with, not the ones that agree with me...there's a huge difference.
