I must be blessed...

I kept my rental for a few extra days (at the same rate of 20 bucks a day) and went to Lubbuck to get my Daughter from collage( she finnally graduated) and used the rental to haul back the trailer ful of her chit. It did fine with the 4.6 but the cruise control is abusive to the engine so I Manueled it for awhile. Anyway on the way there with no trailer I was High tailing it up 114 just outside Crosbyton and I get pulled over for doing 73 in a 65 ( It's dark out and Texas has a 65 speed limit at dark). I tell him where I'm going and what for and it happens his sister lives down the street from the way old address on my license so he cuts me loose with a warning. I'm telling you there's a better chance of a ticket out in bum chuck Eygpt than in the big city

Excellent early xmas gift to get out of a ticket.:santa: I lucked out on one a few years back. Yokel in indiana stopped me 97 in a 55 driving back to IL from KY. Cop wrote the wrong due date on my ticket and turned it into the office after the date on the ticket (oops). Well i received a nice letter saying sorry but due to officer error the ticket is void. SCORE!!! Shame too cuz that was a hefty fine they lost out on.

Reminds me when I was let go in my little po-dunk town for doing 25 over the speed limit. 65 in a 40 mind you. He said, "I should write you a ticket, but I don't feel like it tonight". Man, lazy cops rock!! I still can't figure out why.

That would have been a 200+ ticket Gotta watch for those cops hiding in bushes on those lonely country roads.

On Christmas Eve back in the mid 90's I crossed from New York back in to PA. There were 4 people pulled over by 4 different cops. I figured they would not have 5 cops on one section of road. I was wrong they had 6. I got nailed and a second later the car following did also. the cops must have been after their Christmas bonus.

I was late for work one day, hauling butt up this one suburban road. I knew they occasionally set up speed traps on that road (I drive it every day for pete's sake), but wasn't thinking about it as I was in dire need to make it to work on time. Well, I see the timers set up along side the road about 2 seconds before I roll through them at about 60 in a 35mph zone. No time to brake, just time to look to my left and see the cop car sitting behind the barn that is right along side the road. Watching my rearview, I see him pull out, and turn the other way after the guy that went through opposite me within 3 seconds of when I did.

That was a blessing alright...
