Billy Lane of Choppers Inc. He builds some nice bikes as well. Just my .02
i have to laugh because the 3 things i remember about him was how bad the wheel bounced on the first bike he built and how his A$$ caught on fire with the second one, because he ran the exhaust under the seat. in the build off with indian larry, larry had to get Billies bike running for him.

i would not get a bike from Jesse or OCC. to many other builder out there and it seem more of a thing with matching your style with the right builder. i think i read that wcc has a waiting list that is a year out.

Jessie James has come a long way, he's prolly had a hard life...But I think he's gotten too big for his britches, and he thinks his $4iT dont stink... I wouldnt walk across the room and pi$$ on his head if it were on fire...
Ole man Tuetle rules the OCC, and I have a ton of respect for them (Even Jr.) but that Mickey..............I havnt figured him out yet. I dont think they have, either.

This may have been true at one point but, I don't think it's the case anymore. The time he has to spend in front of the camera (TV Show, commercials etc.) takes him away from WCC.

If I had to chose between OCC and WCC, I would pick OCC simply because I like the different themes that they do. However, I get sick of Paul Sr. running around shootin' his mouth off all the time and not doin' jack chit.

I like both the Teutle and James bikes but they both have gotten to be big sellouts.I saw an add the other day for OCC cologne,C`mon stop with the whoring and build bikes.JJ does build his own tanks and fenders that is the mainstay of his biz he has been selling Tanks and Fenders since before he built bikes. And please enough with the WCC shirts and the OCC knockoff hats that are in every 7/11 store, guess what it`s not cool to wear that stuff if you dont have the bike.Out of the 2 I have to say I like the OCC bikes better but I also like Dave Perewitz `s bikes .Dave did some work on bikes for some friends of mine in the early 90`s and I got to know him a bit he is a great guy and probably THE best painter in the word, nobody can do flames like Dave Perewitz.

I think both bikes are nice but way to high dollar there is a company based in Texas, American Iron Horse they build very nice bikes, Choppers, Softtalis, Rigids, And you can customize them to a certian(sp) degree. I have ridden both I currently own a croutch rocket and I' m going to buy a iron horse soon. But for the money they want it is just crazy.

OK, now for something completely different. I don't think either of them truly ENGINEERS a bike. Yes, they both BUILD bikes and one can argue that they FABRICATE parts, but the level of engineering rates right up there with a 1950's English sports car. Has anybody noticed how much focus is placed on keeping the weight down in those choppers? That's right - none. I'd hate to have to pick one of those bad boys up after it fell over in a parking lot. It would probably require a crane!

Now, if one looks at some of the "other" bikes suggested in this thread, now there's some true engineering. I can see beauty in engineering. It takes some of that to build a bike that weighs 380 lbs and runs 180 MPH off the showroom floor. As for OCC and WCC, they do build beautiful bikes - maybe even art. But that's about all they are. In a drag race or cross country jaunt they'd get buried.

not a good comparision, there is no way a custom bike can compete with the R&D, top engineers and the buying power of a Honda or even a Harley Davidson. you build a custom bike to have what you want and to have something different. Can you imagine how much the bikes would cost if you first drew plans with a designer and an engineer involved, add another 10 to 15K to the project.
from this stand point one could say that occ is a better bike because they get a frame from a guy that does nothing but make frames and has, thru the years, found what does and does not work.

I think that's appealling to lots of folks in the market for a chopper.

I like WCC because their shop is down the street from my house. My ex-girl knows Jessie. He's the real deal, a local thug-turned-"hero."

For a glimpse into Jessie's philosophy, any part from his bikes should be useful as a weapon when removed from the bike.

I think all of these guys have basically "sold out" but that doesn't necessarily mean that the bikes aren't cool. I mean, if someone offered me millions to put my picture on a coffee mug, I'd take the money. But it wouldn't necessarily mean that I'm a different person, I'm the same guy only with a ton of dough.

I see WCC & OCC logos everywhere these days. It's all played out at this point, IMHO.
