Christmas Cards are....

...ghey.

I don't send any, and I don't expect any, but they still come. I love those people that measure their importance by how many Christma...oh wait, "Happy Holidays", cards they get....

I don’t want to sound like a grinch but I agree with you. I was in the “Card” store the other day with the wife getting some cards. When did a simple Happy Birthday card cost $3.50? Happy Birthday, Congratulations, Boss Day, Your Pet Passed, Happy 50, 60, 70, 80… Thinking of you, cards just to give cards. There out to make money, seriously what does everyone do, open it, a quick read, “Oh how nice” prop it up on the mantel, desk or shelve for about a week and then toss them. What a waste of tree and a stamp. You want to tell me something because of some event in my life, how about calling me.

Cards are a chick thing, especially xmas cards. Last year I get the g/f an expensive bracelet as a xmas present, she opens it annd asks me if I got her a card... Anyone ever hear the Kevin James (from the King of Queens) stand up bit about cards where he is talking about how men just buy the first card they see and sign it at the stop light in front of therir g/f's house?

I'd just as soon stick 3 bucks in a card as to buy a card with someone else's mass produced sentimental crap that is suppose to be my thoughts and or feelings.

Bah humbug....

Wife still gets me cards...but now that I have kids I have them make Mommy cards...saves money and still gets the credit for the card.

I mean, what a waste... for the most part... We flood the postal system with useless cards that many times, get read and tossed shortly thereafter, sometimes just flat out tossed...

I mean, I guess it's ok for something like, lets say your parents who live in another State, but it's real annoying when they're sent in some vain effort to simply acknowledge ones existence. For example, I get Christ..., er, "Holiday" cards, from co-workers I don't even talk to. Many times, the card is a picture of their family, with each member wishing me a Merry..."Happy Holidays", C'MON.....

My wife wants to make "Holiday Cards" and use a picture from our recent wedding. My Mom and her Mom would really like it, but the other 20 - 30 people could care less...

all's he wrote in the card was 'merry christmas, sent these just in case you get some'

Beanhead, bit of a sinic? I know exactly why! I don't have just have a problem with the cards, I can't stand the whole "holiday" thing. I hate people asking me what I want for Christmas. I don't know! When I see something I want, I buy it for my self! Then I have to buy gifts for others. I don't know what the he!! I want, how am I supposed to know what to get for others? I keep telling my family that we should just get our selves stuff then bring it to show off. I haven't convinced them yet. I do like getting together with the family on the holidays, but do we have to do this consumer thing every year?

I've had that happen. I don't remember what I got her but I know it was a pain in the a$$, and I even put thought into it. When she askes if I got a card, all I can think is WTF!!!. Now there is manditory cards for specific (not specified by me) occasions. I try to choose my "battles" carefully, and I wouldn't have even had a chance in that case.

The thing I look forward to this time of year is that time flies, and we'll be past the "holidays" before you know it.

Bah humbug!

The good news is that it is completely voluntary, at least for now. There is legislation before congress to make the card exchange compulsory (send two for each one received) A kind of government pyramid scheme.

Save the cards, use the front as labels on next years presents..
I have an aunt who doesn't sign cards so they can be reused. No return address either, bless her heart.
(i think it's from her)

visa or discover gift card. It's anything they want it to be (or at least that's what one of those commercials said).
