I always get a live one. There's just something about going somewhere, picking out a tree, going back to cut it down, bring it home, dig out pinestraw, pine cones and birds nests...It just gets me in the Christmas mood. I bought one 2 or 3 years ago from one of the home improvement stores. Sure, it was easier and cheaper, but it didn't feel the same. I felt like I was cheating

I like the Christmas tree farms. They have hot chocolate, coffee, trailer rides, CHAINSAWS, and you get to meet/see a lot of people. It's worth the extra $10 - $15 IMO.

Yeah, you cant beat a real tree. The smell alone is what makes it worth it!

Wow, talk about getting a jump on things. If I had our tree up this early my kids heads would explode before Christmas even got here.

But, real trees are the only way to go. The smell, looks, tradition, the fact that they're easier for the cats to climb and knock over stattering ornaments all over the place, the way they shed needles all over the floor if you don't keep them watered, finding something to do with it after you tear it apart and chuck it outside.

Hell with it, I'm not getting a tree this year.

Yea, I do the real tree thing too. Growing up we had an artificial tree, not for me anymore. I usually get mine a couple days before Christmas, take it down the day after New Year's. Lights don't get lit until Christmas Eve, that's when it gets decorated. The Angel goes on the top at midnight.

I usually cut mine the first week of December. It gets lit and decorated the next day (after falling out and sucking up a whole 5 gallon bucket of water). I'll take it down 12/30 or 12/31.

We were using a fake one until we got a kid, now it's real all the way. When the kid leaves we'll go back to fake ones. I just have to have the smell and going and picking the right one out for the kid. We get ours December 1st and take it down New Years day.

I never saw the logic in 'killing a tree for Jesus', so we usually get a real live tree for Christmas and plant it afterwards.

Our last house was looking like a pine forest after 8 years, and our new house is getting there. It smells nice around here year round, almost like the road up into Flagstaff.

We have a small fake tree. 3 single men we tend to do everything really small. By small i mean 3 feet tall at the most.

My uncle decided one ear to put nascar crap all over it. A tree only a redneck could love

We have a fake tree. I agree with you all on the smell of live trees, it really makes the season, so I burn pine scented candles. It just got to be too big a hastle to get the hubby to go help me get a tree and a fake one I can put up myself and he doesn't have to lift a finger (he's a bit of a grinch). Haven't put it up yet, I usually wait til the first week of December.

while your looking for logic........the Christmas tree industry is making millions of dollars on dead trees, I dont think they do it for Jesus
