O.K. Goober

GameCube....Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Zelda, Metroid, just to name a few that you cant get on the other 2 BEASTS.

Its not a bad system....Still Like the PS2 and XBOX better.

Save your money for truck mods, go out to wal mart and get one of those plug and play atari or activevision things. I'm going with the SEGA Genesis version (oh yeah 16 bit graphics) so I can play classics like Sonic (the original), Golden Axe and Altered Beast. too bad they don't have a classic Nintendo version with games like Mike Tyson's Punchout, Super Mario Brothers (the kind that used to come with the NES), Tetris, Legend of Zelda, and some of the other great classic Nintendo games.

MGS = Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, etc...

Twin Snakes = WTF?! never even heard of it. Sounds gay...

Zelda = it was cool in 1987!!

Metroid = another classic back in the day, only to be eclipsed by Halo...

Why play some re-hashed hits when you can play the real deal?! And don't even get me started on that GayCube controller...

I got the Game Cube for my neice & nephew a couple years back... mario game was pretty cool. I guess Nintendo will always cater to the younger crowd - just look at the game library. Few goodies, but way to much cutsie-pie crap. The video game industry grew up, Nintendo has not.

Yeah for $20-25 you can game like its 1987 all over again. In college we had an old NES system that got 3 times the use that the PS2 did but you had to do some wierd ritual to get the games to work, especially Punchout, froze on me when I was actually going to beat Super Machoman once. Try to beat Legend of Zelda without all the clues you used to get out of Nintendo Power.

BE CAREFUL with those cordless controllers. I am NOT speaking from experience, just what an employee at BB told me, and two buddies. The bat's wear down quickly on those things. The 'regular one' runs on 2-AA batteries. The one with the fans in it runs on 4-AA batteries. Yes, I said 'fans'. They now have controllers with fans AND FAN SPEED CONTROLS to change the speed of the fans. The fans cool your hand while you play. From what I've been told, the original runs longer on 2 bat's than the fan one with 4 bat's.

And james...there's a whole nother discussion about Dzervit's 'car'...or did you see it?

Not bad, Grandpa still plays video games!!!

You'll really dig the x-box. Check out xbox.com for the game library.

Here's an odd and completely useless tidbit:

I used to know how to beat Zelda2 from scratch, by heart...

Ah yes, back when I actually had the WHOLE summer off with nothing to do but "beat" Nintendo games with equally geeky friends of mine...

It was.....

...The summer of '89

"I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played 'til my fingers bled
It was summer of '89

Me and some guys from school
Had a Band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit and Jody got married
I shualda known we'd never get far

Oh when I lock back now
That was seemes to last forever
And if I had the choice
Ya - I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life

(CHORUS)

Ain't no use in complainin'
When you got a job to do
Spent my evenin's down at the drive in
And that's when I met you

Standin on a mama's porch
You told me that you'd wait forever
Oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was no or never
Those were the best days of my life

(Chorus) Back in Summer of '89

Man we were killin' time
We were young and restless
We needed to unwind
I guess nothin' can last forever, no

And now the times are changin'
Look at everything that's come and gone
Somethimes when I play that old six-string
I think about ya wonder what went wrong

Standin' on a mama's porch
You told me it would last forever
Oh the way you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life

(Chorus) Back in summer of '89

I have a PS2, an XBOX, and a Game Cube.

What does that make me?

Well rounded!

I bought the gamecube because it was cheap.. We've had a blast playing Mario Kart: Double Dash on it!
And I wish Sony & Microsoft would come out with a wireless controller that was as good as the wavebird!

Sweet....got some back-up.

That setup looks something like mine, clonetek. MINUS the atari (which I am looking for), and the big screen. Good job!
