I don't want to get into yalls little pissin' match here, but I owned/drove a Jeep for 6 years. A jeep would have rolled right over left into this creek.

I love jeeps, they're fun, but you cannot, I repeat, YOU CANNOT compare a jeep to a Full Size Truck. They are two totally different types of vehicles for two TOTALLY diffents uses. I would never go rock crawling in an F-150, I would never haul a load with a Jeep.

The two are not in the same class.

Carry on!

By no means did I mean to imply we were talking about your maturity...I was talking about your sexual stamina.

Hey, I'm with you. They have their purpose... but the fru-fru models DC peddles are about as off-road worthy stock as an explorer. The Rubixcubacon is a better off-roader, but hardly the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Stamina? What's that? I'm a two pump chump! Hey, why do women fake orgasams? 'Cuz they think we care!!!

Finally in this post...
lol

Yeah the concept is cool, but we all know the actual one wont looks nearly this far out (which is a good thing).

As far as the jeep discussion. You should have this in the offroad forum where it can fall on the right people.
Personally I see a jeep as a great little trail vehicle. If I were to buy one it would get little driving on the road since I agree with D that everything has to balance out and if you make something exceptional on a trail you will sacrifice on the road. No its no fullsize and if you are talking open trails where both can fit, the Truck will carry its own and still have enough power to pull the jeep. But the reality of it is that most trails cant fit full size trucks and the longer wheelbase really hurts us. A jeep is great to take to small trails without worrying to much about body damage or flooding since it is more geared for that. Although they do flip easily, thats no lie.
About jeep engines the truth to that is most guys who use these heavily offroad like to make axle and engine swaps because the jeeps need more power for the large tires.
Bottom line...one is a truck and one is not. Two different vehicles with different offroad, onroad and towing capabilities.

Philly you aint leavin us are you?

Personally, I think the Rubicon is a helluva deal... You'd be doing well to buy a brand new Jeep and build it up to the same extent for less then the price of a new Rubicon (and you'd loose your warranty), and I'm unaware of anything else out there (new) that would do anywhere near aswell rock climbing for anywhere near $25k stock. With a Rubicon, you pretty much need a lift and tires and you're ready to go.

Not to co-sign with any Jeep bashing, I think they're cool around-town vehicles (Wranglers) and the Gand Cherokee is super-nice, but I wish I would catch myself about to pay a "starting at" $27,000, for this.

It's nice- but for $27,000- I'd just get an Expedition XLT.

The Expy's are nice, but talk about comparing apples and oranges. The Expy would not be able to even begin to go the places the Rubicon would have no problem with. On the other hand, I don't think anyone would argue the Expy is in a different league of its own on paved roads. Plus you can get a Rubicon for around $25k all day long. Most of the Expy's I've seen are well into the 30's.
