Ford's Answer to the H2?
What if Ford built an answer to the H2? What if they made it big & bold, big tires, wheels, tall ride height, and called it- Oh, I don't know...... BRONCO. Do you think people would buy it?
Chrysler had a concept truck a few years ago called the COMMANDER; that was bad-arse, but they didn't build it. Has anyone seen any prototype Bronco's? Think Ford may have an ace up its sleeve? |

That'd be awesome... Ford could build it to nearly the width, length and height of the H2; but do it with the 6.0L diesel-only. I don't like diesels because you generally have to throw a search-party to find diesel; but tht 6.0L Powerstroke is a thing of beauty- powerful and quiet enough for everyday use... Needs 4 doors, and room for 5 (covered) with the removeable hard top. |
4 doors? Are you mad?! Yeah yeah, I'm sure the market would demand a 4dr, but that 2dr is SA-WHEET. And I'm with you on the powerstroke option. A few mods and poof! a 1000ft-lbs of torque... :drool:

It seems to me that Ford would have a hell of a market for a new Bronco, the concept looks good to me, I'm hoping that there is a new Bronco by the time I'm ready for a new vehicle.

they should make the Bronco the size of a Jeep Wrangler, and offer options close to the wrangler. From a no thrills option to something that will hang with the Rubicon. :thumbsup:

We don't want no stinkin mini bronco! It would be nice to see someone market something of the appropriate size to compete with the Rubicon though.

I also think they should put this concept Bronco and an Escape in the pasture to see if they'll breed an produce a kick-arse product to compete w/ that stupid Jeep... |
There's a 1978 Bronco XLT in my dad's garage that someone could use as a 'project vehicle' for this task. ;)
It's on the market and he's looking to make room in his boat house... I'd love to have it but have no where to put it... RP :D |

The more I lookup stuff on this concept, the more I like it. And cia-dude, the concept had a 2.0L desiel... Because those jeeps are a pile of crap that has people fooled into thinking it's a great off-roader. The build quality stinks, it's noisey, unsure of itself on pavement and little off-road ability w/o mods. If ford does it right they can squash those jeep snobs and expose them for what they are - latte' drinking bunny hill skiing hippies!!! Thus, IMHO Jeeps are stupid. I would like to see one stock vehicle go over the Rubicon Trail, or any difficult trail for that matter without any body damage or having to use a winch. 1) the build quality stinks. How do you know this? Every Jeep that I have seen has lasted years and years without any problems. 2) Its noisey. What the **** do you expect out of something thats designed for OFF ROAD use with large mud tires??? 3) Unsure of itself on pavement. Thus it was designed for OFF ROAD use, not the handle like a ****ing corvette... 4) Little off road capability. What world are you in, to this date the JEEP rubicon is the most capable off road vehicle produced. 5) latte' drinking bunny hill skiing hippies!!! Once again, what world are you living in??? Most of the people that I see with jeeps are true outdoors men, that can use logical reasoning when purchasing a vehicle that they can depend on to get them through any situation that arises. Plain and simple, the RUBICOn is simply an amazing off road machine that has no competition for pure off road wheeling. :thumbsup: AND, the motor in an off road vehicle means very little. Gears, Suspencion, axles, strengh are more important than anything. A simple 4banger will go everyplace a V8 will go (except in deep, heavy mud, but thats for people will no skill) |
I have my doubts about that 2.0L, even with the overboost, seems like it might need some more power, they need to keep working on the mini PSD (I think I heard rumors of 4.5L) and drop that into the new Bronco, along with the F-150.

Large mud tires?! How many Jeeps have those? Ohhhhh... the overpriced Rubixcubacon does!!! And they are only 31s, not those 44" that hum at anything over 30mph. Hardly noisey. The wind noise blows, seals suck, and too much power train noise for a nearly 30K off-roader. 3. Sorry, but even the off-roaders must have good pavement manners. Even a serious-off roader with a single vehicle will spend 80-90% of his/her time on concrete. And if you mod it for heavy off road use, fine. But a stock pile of a Jeep rolling off the dealer lot better know how to keep it between the lines and not hop skip and jump over every pebble in the road. Hell, at the nearly 30K sticker of a Rubixcubacon I'll save my pennies and spend the extra 10K on a LR3 with 10x the build quality and superior off-road capabilities. 4. I'll agree it has better off road capabilities than most, but it still needs mods & $$ to seriously play with the big boys. There is no serious 4wheeler that rolls off anyone's factory line. And who the hell wants an off-roader named after a lame movie prop?! If I recall the allmighty Rubixcubicon didn't come out until post Tombraider... since all the hippies with their latte's loved the look of the movie prop... DC marketing department sprung into action and BAM! Toss in an axel, some larger tires, beef up some parts and call it the most capable vehicle ever!!! 5. We have no mountains here. We drive large pickups everywhere. Those that travel hundreds's of miles to find rocks to climb sure has hell don't drive a stock jeep. They have older CJ's that have been regeared, lifted, and a host of other goodies to get them rock ready. My F150 can handle nearly any trail Michigan has to offer. Why would anyone want a cramped, noisey, clunky Jeep? |
