I was in Germany for work and my rental was a great BMW. The car seemed to be geared pretty high since it didn't feel like a lot of power off the line but it had a lot of top end. If we could just get drivers in the US to be as courteous and mindful of their driving habits, driving could be just as fun here!

1. Outside Cologne, Germany on the Autobahn
2. 220 kph or 137 mph
3. BMW 530i

CBR600F1
153mph on I-96 between Howell and Lansing in Michigan.
(according to speedo)
I held it there for about a mile trying to hit 155, but I Kept going between 152-153-152-153-152-153

Needless to say it wasn't exactly legal

It was real smooth! WHen I slowed down to 70mph (speed limit) it felt like I could jump off and run next to the bike

ahhh yes

Legal? Naw, us good ol boys down here in FL know that having a good time is always just a little more fun than the law will allow!

Where: Hernando Beach Florida
When: 1974
How fast: 150 mph
Vehicle info: 1970 Road Runner
My friend had a fresh engine in a 1968 383 Road Runner
and decided he was going to pass me at 90mph.
He finally did about two to three miles later. His speedo only went to 120 and he said it was pointing at the right turn indicator and he could hear the speedo noise over the engine!

Where: Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) (5/8 mile paved oval)
Vehicle: Race prepared truck (similiar to NASCAR trucks)
Speed: Aprox. 100+MPH

My wife got me 10 hot laps for my b-day a few years ago - turned out everyone else bought the more expensive package, so I was upgraded to about 35 hot laps (including a race) for free. Damn truck was missing out at the end of the straightaways

Not quite so legal:
1994 Escort GT
Approx 130 MPH (speedo only went 125 MPH)
somewhere on I-10 in Arizona

140 MPH in my first 1969 Thunderbird. Buried the needle, it stopped at 120.

How do I know I was doing 140? That's what the cop who stopped me said!!
