The unions of today are self-serving entities. They had reason and purpose in the past but with todays labor laws it is an outdated entity that puts unnecessary burdens on their very supporters.

I find it quite interesting that children being taught liberal ways. Will still form their own opinions on right and wrong. Their current way of thinking is what I agree with. Some adults still pick their nose and eat it. So what?

These polls where for kids from 4th to 12th grades. Little beyond the paste eating stage. My own daughter is 16 and very involved in politics and the outcome of the vote the 2nd.
My daughter read your response and felt a little offended by it. She will be going with me tomorrow to see the President at a rally and wishes very much that she could vote now.

We have discussed this election in great detail and she will tell anyone that she is not supportive of Bush because of my views. The last thing she wants to do is agree with me.

My point of stating those polls was to show a consistant indicator of who may win this election. Kind of like the most masks sold for Holloween before an election, which Bush leads.

I do find it comforting to say the least that teachers and their liberal biased teaching may not be having the effect that some worry about.
Of all the different indicators, I would tend to put alittle more stock in this because alot of kids dont really discuss politics, but rather just soak up all the stuff they hear and read and form a rather silent opinion that would be reflected in these poles.

Ya know, for you people that think teachers are evil liberals you can always keep your kids home and home school them. My gf read YOUR post and was offended by it. Shes a teacher and doesnt appreciate the spin you put on her profession. She'd like to see evidence of these evil liberal teachers you speak of.

Well a few questions then.

By the way, you assumed the "EVIL" part and in my state it's illegal to keep your kids from school. Home school is great option for those who can afford not to work. Teaching is a very respectful occupation but the curriculum in today's classroom is the issue.

What grade/subject does she teach?

Does she like paying union dues?

What agenda does the NEA support? Why?

Does she agree with NEA politics?

Does she think there should be a unified world?

Does she teach peace and harmony to all of mankind?

Is she prejudiced?

Does she teach war is bad?

Sometimes the best teachers are our worst enemies. Therefore it's not the person but the message that has meaning.

Kudos to your girlfriend for doing a difficult and necessary job. If she is offended by my disagreement with her union's politics and school curriculum, then so be it. Just answer the questions and the examples should become self evident.

So what are your predictions? I predict Bush takes it with 3 – 6 points. We know Kerry don’t have a chance so how close do you think it will be?

be careful, he could win the way Al Gore did. Now we could argue realities of how Gore won/lost but they way people claim Gore won could happen to Bush. Wins popluar vote, loses based on electoral college...

XLT,

Have you put any thought into where you'll be hiding out for the next 4 years if Kerry does pull it out? I can see the headlines now:

"Authorities arrested a Farmington, NH man late Tuesday evening for disturbing the public in connection with complaints of an angry man found walking down the middle of the freeway with a gun in hand screaming "You tree-hugging liberals ruined the country!" at various economy vehicles driving down the freeway."

Burts not like that.
I've met Burt, we had a long talk.
Mostly about the war and violence.

I tried to change the subject a few times but it didn't work too good.

I tried baseball.

I says to him, "Burt, what's your favorite club?"

Without missing a beat he says, " A two by four with a nail in it."

If you are concerned with how bad the world looks when you tune in to CNN, STOP! Don't tune in to CNN.

I'm not a republican, though there might be some one who accuses me of being one. No, I'm not a democrat either. I have never voted for a presidential candidate from either of the "two parties". I've always voted for an alternate party. This year may be different.

This year is different for me. I try to get information from multiple sources with different views on the topics. One thing that I have seen (and heard) is the the dems really paint an awful picture. I'm not surprised that if the only sources you get your info from are "leaning" sources that you would see all doom and gloom.

I guess we will all know what America is thinking soon. Perhaps even before Christmas.

I would guess he's already had quite a few "man dates." I don't think he'll have to worry about having a mandate though. Is that what's called a Freudian Slip?

Sorry she was offended, did not imply all are that way, but I have seen many teachers that are. Like when my daughter told some of her teachers she was goin the see the president at a rally, only one said cool, good learning experience. Several others just said why would you want to got see that nut for, or why would you waste your time.

That sounds a little biased to me..

yep id have to agree there. People in general shouldnt say that to anyone, especially children, no matter if they agree or not. Thats the thing i dislike about alot of the political threads on this board, they end up getting ugly with finger pointing and bias. Its great that person A backs person B but that doesnt mean person A gets to slam person C cuz they dont agree. Ah well.

No need for me to worry about leaving the country or finding somewhere else to hang out since President Bush will be reelected…

Stick a fork in Kerry because he is ALL done. His explosives propaganda blew up in his face and he continues to drop in the polls…

Remind me to never even think about moving to Maryland. Just saw on FNC where sKerry has a 22 point lead there. Yikes! Methinks the cold weather has gotten to those people.

Burt: Looks like Bush might win NH. Did he take NH in 2000? I can't remember.
