It's probably worth it to have another one made (or, even better, see if you can persuade the dealership to do it for you).
Often times, you'll find a 'blank' key fob on ebay for sale.
Also, if you just want it to unlock the doors (ie: you're going to hide it under the truck for such a 'locked out' occasion), you can get a regular key... just be reminded that it WON'T start the truck and you shouldn't try to have it start the truck...

Or do like I do and send your kid through the rear slider when you are locked out.
You know how easy they are to get open? That's why thet leak so much. It's a wonder more theives don't figure this out, but I guess they aren't smart enough...thus their profession.

Or if you're really cheap and live in a non-crime area (Ha!) get a few copies made of the key (regular ones) and then tape the transponder chip or entire key inside the steering colum. The regular keys will then start the truck.
