Spare Keys

I bought my used F-150 a month ago, and the dealer only had one key for it.

Would it be feasible to try and get another "Ford" key, or are they expensive?

Gotta get it from your dealer for 'bout $40 if I recall. Option B is go buy a transponder by-pass, then go get a regular key cut. The ladder degrades the security of the vehicle and costs about the same if not more. D'oh!

It's probably worth it to have another one made (or, even better, see if you can persuade the dealership to do it for you).

Often times, you'll find a 'blank' key fob on ebay for sale.

Also, if you just want it to unlock the doors (ie: you're going to hide it under the truck for such a 'locked out' occasion), you can get a regular key... just be reminded that it WON'T start the truck and you shouldn't try to have it start the truck...

Or do like I do and send your kid through the rear slider when you are locked out.

You know how easy they are to get open? That's why thet leak so much. It's a wonder more theives don't figure this out, but I guess they aren't smart enough...thus their profession.

Or if you're really cheap and live in a non-crime area (Ha!) get a few copies made of the key (regular ones) and then tape the transponder chip or entire key inside the steering colum. The regular keys will then start the truck.
