Man I hope nobody here loses their job anytime soon!

My last day was July 9th. And I have had a lot of people interested in me and one even said they were going to make me an offer then NOTHING! No return phone calls or emails!

I am shocked at the absolute un-professionalism in this country. Or the lack of B@lls! You know if you don't want to hire me for whatever reason be a flucking man and just tell me I can take it. Sheesh!

Oh and to continue my vent, Last year on April 17th I lost my job to a Bad CEO that wanted to hire his friends, (I had just bought my dream house) I eventually went to the competition and all was great, we even sued my old company to put them out of business then my company bought my old company and made the bad CEO (That let me go) the new CEO of the combined companies. Then guess what? He did it again and now I am out of work again!

GRRRRRRR!

I hear ya and feel for you. I left my job of 4 years this past may due to the company pushing me out and eliminating my position. I had a job to go to so I left. The job I went to didnt work out as I had hoped so it was back to the resume writting. Finally got a call that a company was interested in me. A month later I was able to get an interview, then a second interview 1 week later, which was this past tuesday. I called today to tell them I will accept there offer and dont you know I cant get ahold of the guy I need to talk to. I even emailed him because he specifically told me hes hard to get ahold of and the best thing to do is to email and he would get back that evening. Well its almost 10pm and I dont think hes getting back to me tonight. Its very frustrating, when they take there sweet time and your standing next to the phone waiting for the call as the mail man piles the bills in the mail box.

So as I said, I feel for you. Hang in there, thats all I can say. Ive been out of work since the last week in June and im going crazy. With any luck this will be my last week in limbo and I will be on my way to start my new job in a week.

 

My son is a civil engineer and is going through this trying to get a job crapp...And like you said you got to wonder how these companies can make any money the way they treat you...Just say no and here's why its no at this time...grrrr

So this is the place to vent...I wish you all get something soon and by a company that earns the right to have you working for them...This ford site has only the best people on it...so hang tough and things will work out ok ...Keep smiling..that will improve your chances as people like to be around people that are smiling...

 

Dude, it's been only a little over a month! i know it can seem like forever, but you WILL find something eventually!

If anything, look forward to job searching, employers are just as expendable as employees, and the better you get at it, the better an asset you are to yourself. Never, ever, be fully dependent upon the employer. Always retain the ability to pivot and go somewhere else.

It should never, ever, be, "What can I do to keep my job?", but rather, "What are THEY going to do to retain me?"

of course, this is only my opinion...

Keep on truckin', you'll definitely plow through, it is ONLY a matter of mere time...

 

Go ahead and vent, we'll listen. Sorry to hear about your job, that sux. Hope things get better for you soon. We're looking at the job market ourselves. The hubby is retiring from the Coast Guard after 22 years and we not only need to find jobs but we'll be moving and trying to get a house. Not sure I'm ready for this but it's time to tell the CG good-bye.

 

Thanks everyone for your replies! Actually it is almost two months now. (Last year it was six months-long story)

It still just amazes me that these people stay employed. I mean I would love a job where I could treat people like crap and be successful. I have busted my a$$ for a long time and made a name for myself and now I am reduced to putting the control of my future in the hands of some of these losers.

I know I know some of you will say that you are in charge of your own future. And that is somewhat accurate. However because of the events last year and now this and since I have kids, new house, wife that doesn't work, I don't live at home with mom and dad, etc My time/$$ is very limited and thus I must rely on what someone says they are going to do. IE: I will call you Monday with the schedule to fly you in for the seccond interview then nothing. BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Again I am sorry for boring you all with this. I am very frustrated and worried about losing everything that I have worked so hard for.

Sorry about your job, I hate my job and am out looking for a new one. I work in a office where they turn off all the lights for a hour to two hours and the rest of the time they keep the lighting on where one out of the three bulbs are lit. I am seriously having trouble seeing and need to get the hell out of here. OK rant over
