OMG! It's Interior Decorator Joe putting in his $0.02. I suppose you envision a particularly ravishing shade of fuschia?

The glass had a defect in it...see how its in pieces...Some could have closed a door hard and it could have broke...Is the dog crate trained ? I don't see the dog causing that mess but...I have a 90 lb German Shepherd She is crate trained...She plays with her rope toys and swings them around and never broke anything once...I see that the glass is about as even as you get inside and outside the clock...If you know a good glass man show him/her the picture and ask their opinion if the glass was defective or...

Sorry you loss your parents...same here...Things will be better once your married...Tuff will be jealous of you as well then...

It is entirely possible that the dog is the culprit. I've seen a black lab go right through a sliding glass door before. Although she would have had to jump at it several times to get it to break. Why she would do that is beyond me, but who knows what goes through a dogs mind! Unless of course there was a flaw in the glass like ConcreteGuy says. A hit in just the right spot or even thunder or the clock itself when it chimed could have shattered it.

Good looking dog though. She looks so innocent!!

ConcreteGuy - I've mulled over the 'flawed glass' theory, however, the glass wasn't touched all weekend. Neighbors don't wind/touch the clock, the clock is set to 'silent', and I KNOW I would have noticed a crack or flaw in the glass. Its way to convieniant this happened while we were away.

The pooch is crate trained, but rarely spends time in there as she have proven herself to be a calm, well behaved canine while we are gone. Well, until now. As for the glass pattern, I'd think the scattering of the glass across the floor/carpet would be the same... let's assume she did punch it and break it with her snout/paw... it would be low enough on the glass that would cause the 4ft of glass above it to come straight down and create the pile as shown in the picture.

1depd - nope, no toys at the scene of the crime. She like to toss stuff around sometimes, but then she would have had to pickup her toy and place it into her toy basket... which she doesn't do..

Another possible senario... dog knocked it enough to cause one of the very heavy weights to clang into the glass causing it to shatter. Nah...

As an adamete dog lover, I'd say that if all it costs you to have the best friend of your life is $450 for a door, and a bowl of dog food and the occasional milk bone, your still doing alright. Most of my human friends cost more, between paying to watch videos with them, paying to go out to eat with them when I'd rather not otherwise, etc. it comes out to much more then $450.

Its all in the ears....Point at the clock and then say to your pooch "did you do this?", then look at the ears. If they fall down and back...Bam crime solved. Let my dog demonstrate.
NO problems...good dog

Now,,uhh ohh I did something wrong (see the ears)

Its pretty much a closed case the dog did it, upon our arrival she was outside and tail & ears down as soon as she saw me. Not the normal happy greeting. She knew she was busted. I just wish I knew HOW she did it, and without injury!!!

Don't try to pin this on me!
I've never been to Detroit and if you'd bothered to read my earlier posts you'd know that I have changed my diet and I don't do that anymore!

Here is a little piece of hell. jk. Reese at 8wks old now at 12wks. I swear God made him cute so you wouldnt kill him.
Although....last night my girlfriend was trying to put the lease on him to take him out and while she was frantically trying to get the clasp, he peed on the floor without her knowing. Next thing you know she slips, flys through the air and lands in the pee. See now if he wasnt licking her face looking cute, she definitely would have killed him...

That is one hell of a cute dog Eddy. Must have been funny to watch your gf do a swandive into the pee. Laughing at stuff like that gets in trouble though.

They are all cute as pups... then they grow into little fur-terrorists.

For example:
