Working 40+ hours a week? Bush Says "Tough"
at my place?
first I was taken from commission to salary which results in a pay cut.and oh yeah. I also have to work 10 more hours per week to earn less than what I was making....
Sure, where do I sign?

Good heatlthy discussion! It illustrates a lot of appreciation for the Bush plan. Now it needs to be backed up at the polls in November with either a vote for Bush or a vote against Bush to support that appreciation. Tell your friends and encourage them to show their appreciation as well.

Salary jobs suck, unless you make so much money that you feel guilty for only working 40 hrs a week.
Let's not forget the bonuses salaried employees are often paid, that hourly employees are not intitled to.

Most of Europe's productivity is in the crapper because of short workdays/workweeks, extremely long vacations, and the like.
Considering the socialist nature of many European countries, I don't think this argument works well in a capitalistic society.
But don't get me wrong, I do believe in daily overtime, that is, anything more than 8 hours for THAT DAY should be OT.
And I'm salaried, with no OT, and no complaints. If I wanted OT then I'd have gone into a profession that paid me by the hour. But white-collar work is typically not OT, so that's fine with me.
Blue-collar work can be back-breaking. The only back-breaking thing about my job is changing the 5-gallon bottle of Sparklets water every couple of days.
