Nissan's been doing trux a while too
I always wondered why Nissan doesn't sell this SUV in the states.
Our Colonels and LT. Colonels were rolling them big-time in Desert Storm. To my 1991 (22 year old) eyes, they were on par with the Range Rovers and Mitsubushi Montero's the General's and lower rankign officer's were in...
Nissan keeps all the hot rides away from the US.
They Skyline, The Patrol, and many more....

It's as if this thing will never die - Nissan's Patrol has been facelifted once again. 'Once again' isn't a remark of sarcasm either, as just last February, Nissan tweaked and updated their age-old (really) sport utility vehicle. Serving Nissan for over 50 years, it is their original all-purpose, load-lugging go-anywhere vehicle loved by those who need super-rugged and reliable utility vehicles; a favourite for United Nations peace keeping troops and the Red Cross. This update concentrates mostly on the vehicle's exterior, trading off the bulky looking two-tone bumpers and cladding for more streamlined bodywork. Smoothly integrated foglamps are mounted into the bumpers, while a tougher, more angular lower valance should allow for steeper hill climbs. Fender flares and running boards compliment a new chromed grille in-tune with the American Nissan Truck lineup. The rest of the box-like body has been left as-is.

Nissan facelifts and updates the Patrol. A minor exterior update, that's all.
Available in three or five doors, with either five or seven seats (only five for the three-door), the Patrol leads the way in general utility. Nissan have improved the interior once again with alterations to the specifications sheet, offering DVD navigation on an integrated LCD display as an option. Leather, wood trim and a premium stereo system are also on the options list. Despite its luxurious accommodations, the Patrol is still an old cumbersome beast primed for the working world. Customers will generally purchase it for its 3.5 ton towing capacity, rather than its refinement or performance. That said, a solitary 3.0 liter turbodiesel is available which is none too powerful or economical. The new Patrol will make its debut at the Val d´Isère show which highlights 4x4 and offroad vehicles. Expect this freshened Nissan SUV to make it to market by October this year.

Do you think that we are all just going to give up our trucks and downgrade to Nissan? Come back when you upgrade to a Ford!
