Construction mistakes?
Sled--I take it they never opened it to Semis. When I had to go to Detroit from my home town I always went through Saginaw never over the Zilwakee.
As far as down here the only one that comes to mind is the Skyway Bridge that goes over Tampa Bay. The original was ran over by a freighter, darned bridge just jumped in front of the ship. The one they were building to replace it was so screwed up it was torn down and replaced by the current bridge.

1depd,
Its open to all traffic, when all the lanes are open. Usually seems like one of the outside lanes are closed for inspection. A couple years ago they had a dot inspection truck with a boom for reaching underneath tip over and damn near went over the side.
I try to avoid it if possible.
bigred, heading up north?
I am up north............

Hey isn't the zilwaulkee bridge the one that . . .
They began building from each end, and as they got closer, realised the two ends weren't going to meet? So there it sat like that for a few years . . . with all of us pointing and laughing at the obvious mistake every time we drove by.
and now completed, it has a huge S curve in it for no appearent reason . . .
