Post your Pooch!
Yep, the lighter one is a girl, Rocket...Dauber is the male, he's the older one...they are exactly five years apart, born on 30Apr..
She's the dominant one...only lets the other chew the rawhide when she says it's ok...they do play well together, a lot like the pic you just posted, but some straight wrestling as well.
And I don't agree w/what Jamz posted about "Needs only moderate exercise"...if these dogs don't get 4 15-20min walks a day they will drive you NUTS!! I tried just 2 30min walks...didn't help...they want their 4..
This is how she normally looks in between walks:

That's all the pics I have...but you know as well as I do that when a Basset sees a camera come out they automatically pose..

They could probably get used to less walks, but I also like getting out of the house and walking them, weather does not bother them at all...but they want to go when they want to go, not always the same time as me..
I don't have a big backyard...I will take them to the elementry school down the street and let them run around the fenced in area..
They weigh pretty much the same 58lbs and 55lbs...they are smaller and taller than most Bassets I've seen..
I got Rocket when she was she was almost 5 months old...a pet store near me couldn't get rid of her...so it was an almost Basset rescue...they had her for 2 months so housebreaking took a little longer than normal because she was so used to going in her cage..
It is nice to have two warm dogs curled up beside you on the couch...and if the mood gets to them, they will stay that way for hours..

JBCP and 26point2... Great looking bassett hounds. I beleive that I posted mine earlier in this thread but I will repost and make this the Bassett Hound section....
Ozzie

Wilbur

and Buddy

Unfortunately we had to put Ozzie down on November 4th due to health issues at the age of 11 1/2 years. We did not want to do it but it was the humane thing to do. Other than the issues that he had this year, he was very healthy.
Wilbur and Buddy are liter mates. We got Wilbur at 6 weeks and Buddy when he was 5 months. Buddy was a 'rescue' as the people that bought him realized that they did not have the time for him. At that time my wife worked at the vet that they used and knew that we had Wilbur and gave us Buddy.
Jamz- Ours have been terriffic. When you walk in the door they are there to greet you. They can be lazy, stubborn and bull headed but then they can be very active, smart and obey. It all depends on the mood that they are in

Buddy is a really cute dog!! My older Basset obeys my every command. It took some work to get him there, but we did get there. I started the day I picked him up. The rescue dog is very good, but its harder to teach him stuff since he is older, and the idiot that had him before did nothing with him. But ive got him doing some small stuff already.
When I took Ozzie to obedience class the instructor told me that there were no guarantees as the few others that she had in class were very stubborn!!!! The other two are pretty good at obeying commands but when they get onto a scent, you better hold on !!!!!!!!!!!
I hear that. Both of mine get on a scent and they dont even know your there anymore!!! They cant hear you or see you it seems like, they just smell the scent and thats IT! Its really cool to watch them track though!
Thought I had posted in here, but appearently not. Anyways, this is Willow, a rescue from the SPCA. When we got her at about 8-10 weeks old, we were told she was a german shepherd / rottie mix. She's full grown now, just over a year old and only tips the scales at 40 pounds, so we're really not sure what she is!
First day home

Saying "Hi!" to my roommates dog Lilly

A little older, her ears are starting to stand up now...

Pretty much full grown here. We were out side and she got sprayed with the hose to cool off

Thanks man, she is really pretty. She's got the softest coat I've ever felt on a dog too. And she only gets a bath two or three times a year, so it must be natural.

Here's my yellow lab Corey, she weighs a hefty 110 pounds. Unfortunately she tore her acl will tearing around in the backyard. We were supposed to either get surgery or put her down. Well the the surgery was not worth the risk and we couldn't put her down. Our vet got mad and said we have to put her down but its been about 2 months and she can walk on it and she never complains about pain. She'll be 10 in February.

Here she is after getting too close while we were painting.
