Fletch is a cool guy. You need to post a picture of Jake.

The big dork is on page 4. He's curled up on his love seat with his teddy bear. Another member (Odin's Wrath) posted the picture for me. At the time, I hadn't figured out how to post the pictures.

Net Wurker, those pictures are priceless!

They sure become attached to the stuffed animals. The old man still takes one or two of his friends to bed with him every night.

Fletch and Jake both look like cool buddys to have around. Im sure Caine would love to hang out and play with those guys. Now I just need to get some new pictures of him. Guess I'll do that tomorrow.

He's pampered way to much. We treat him better than many peoples kids. If we leave over night or go away on vacation, we have to get someone to stay at the house with him. We left him at a kennel one when he was about 1-1/2 years old when we took a trip. We paid them extra to take him on several walks every day and to take him for dips in the lake. He wouldn't do anything for them. He just laid in the kennel and worried himself sick. When we picked him up a week later, it looked like his face had a major case of acne. The vet said it was from worrying that we'd left him??? (SAD Separation Anxiety Disorder) Never heard of that before.

Since then, he's had a nose job. (no not really) he had a cauliflower shaped bump on the tip and we just wanted to make sure it wasn't cancer.

He's had a torn ligament on his left hind leg. They patched him up, but to get to the torn ligament, they had to cut another one. About a week after the surgery, the stitches tore loose from the ligament that they had to cut, so back we went for another repair job.

Then he had an Idiopathic Vestibular Episode. That was interesting! Poor fella totally lost his balance. He'd stand up and take a few steps, and fall down. I had to put a sling under him and hold him up by the collar and the sling to walk him outside to take care of business. It took him nearly three weeks before he walk without some help. Still today is balance isn't great, and he has to walk with his head tilted a bit to make his world look straight.

A couple of months ago, he went in for liposuction. (no not really) He had a huge fatty tumor that needed to be removed from in front of his right rear leg. He still has a few small ones. They look like half of a golf ball stuck under his skin. The vet says that those fat tumors are common in Labs.

Tomorrow he is going to see his friends at the vet for a pedicure. He used to be active enough that he'd keep them worn down.

Oh the things we'll do for our best friend.

Today was a sad day for me. My miniature dacshund, Oscar was killed in front of our house, run over by someone who didn't even bother to stop. Oscar was only 18 months old. He loved everyone and in a moment of carelessness I turned my attention away from him while cleaning my truck. In a matter of seconds he was gone. When I figure out how to add a picture, will post it here. Pets are people too.
