I currently have (2) 55 gallon salts that I've had for about 5 years now... But I decided to upgrade a little...bought a 150 gallon Oceanic reef ready tank. I decided to renovate my house a little for the tank... Turned part of my master closet into a nursery for my baby and straddled the tank in the wall between the nursery and the rest of my house...

Here are some pics of the construction...

More pics to follow...

Do you have any pics of the tank in a "full" view? What are you gonna stock it with?

Thanks man...I was pretty stoked with how it came out. It was a BIATCH to get that tank in the wall... I had to remove a 7' section of the wall that was carrying the load of 2 air handler units and 2 hot water heaters. Had to use 4x4 Ts and my floor jack to lift the beams off the wall from both sides of the wall.

I do have a lot more close-ups...I'll post them later on tonight. Those were the only ones that I could access from my wife's web site for now.

The tank is empty right now...saving up for some metal halides, a sump, a skimmer, and pumps. Already have 250 lbs of purple live rock and all kinds of reef critters.

The install was real challenging...I had to...

(1) Route (2) 20A circuits to the room...one dedicated circuit for the tank routed under my stand...and another dedicated ciruit for the power receptacles, ceiling fan, and aquarium lighting. I installed a digital programable wal switch in the wall next to the door that's tied to a receptacle above my tank...this way I can control my tanks lights from the wall.

(2) Construct laminated headers in (2) load bearing walls...one for the aquarium and one for the single glass french door.

(3) Relocate my attic access to the garage...

(4) Route an additional AC register to the Nursery/Study

(5) Install drywall

(6) Install hardwoods

(7) Do all of the cabinetry, molding, and case work...that's my specialty...

All in all, I think it came out awesome. We turned "dead space" in our house into a functional room now. Future plans for the room include either a study (already routed the phone and coax) or a small gameroom w/ a dart board and a foos ball table...

Well, Im jealous. Thats really nice.

In the wall tanks blow me away. I wanted to do something like that in our living room using a closet that is "dead space". That would be a fairly simple setup.
