Man, I'm not sure where to start..

Sports (not really into sports)
RPG (A toss up between Final Fantasy 7,10 & Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic)
Action/Adventure (Prince of Persia, Metal Gear Solid 2, Resident Evil 2)
Online Gamers (don't play 'em)
Racing (Grand Turismo 3, NFS: Underground, Project Gotham 2)
Wrestling (WWE Smackdown)
Shooter (Chronicles of Rid****, Halo, Metroid Prime)
Simulation (don't play 'em)
Fighting Games (Tekken 4, Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Street Fighter series, Soul Caliber 2)

I'm mostly into fighting games, but a good RPG or Racing game will hold my attention for a few weeks. I was completely addicted to Project Gotham Racing 2, I had to complete the whole game with Silver or better!

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was one of my favorite action games, the "how the hell do I get up there" factor made it alot of fun. I was weened on the Resident Evil series, so I've got to include 'em.

I'll say it, Metroid Prime is the best FPS I've played, it's better than your Dooms or Halos No flames, I simply like the format better.

Man, thats a nice list of games.

I am sorda hooked on a genre that I cant put my find on where it falls.

Manhunt (Rockstar Games)

Very, VERY, brutal, bloody, violent and sick. It's M rated because of its graphic depictions of decapitations -- death by crowbar to the face, wire chokes and machete hackings. But also because it reaches into the wasteland of human life and returns with a quivering piece of rotting meat and makes you taste it. You may have seen this kind of thing in movies, anime or the like, but no videogames to date have gone as far as Rockstar's Manhunt.

Players take on the role of James Earl Cash, a criminal who's sentenced to death row for a crime or crimes too heinous to even mention. Given a second chance by a power-hungry man known as "The Director," Cash is not killed. Instead, he's just given sedatives and taken to the cancerous barrio of a city known as Carcer City. The municipality of Carcer is controlled entirely by the Director, a.k.a. Starkweather, who's set up hundreds of cameras in every place possible, populated it with psycho gangs and a corrupt police force. Here, Cash is the one-man star of Starkweather's snuff films.

If you like those types of storylines, you'd probably get into Chronicles of Rid****: Escape from Butcher Bay. A very gritty story, set in a penal colony on a dead planet out in the middle of nowhere..

The voiceacting is good, the graphics are awesome, and the play quality is top notch. It's one of the best movie/game releases I've played.

Trust me, the hardware is the cheap part
I've got a PS2, X-Box, Gamecube, SNES, and PC.

The PS2 is down to $149, X-Box too
The Gamecube is $99

It's the software that's the killer, my collection is easily $1500-1,600..

I cant remember exactly, but:

Adjust the rear downforce to MAX and the front downforce to MIN. Lower the car as much as possible. Move the Gear settings to WIDE. Traction control and all that other stuff should be OFF or set to Zero. When you start the Top Speed trial go BACKWARDS around the ring. After about 260mph or so the front wheels leave the ground and your speed picks up exponentially. 260, 270, 300, 350, 450, 600, 900... If you have a partner with the same car, have him go ahead of you so you can follow behind and get even more speed from having less wind resistance. You can find out how to do it in more detail on some sites on the internet.

i've played alot of games both console and PC. by far the best games are the multiplayer games on the PC which allow you to play agaisnt or with other players to accomplish the game's goals. the problem i've always found with console games was that when you play you lose interest way too fast, you get tired of fighting the computer AI which never changes. so no real strategy needed.

now im not gonna sit here and say console games were never fun! i've played them since NES and mario bro series!...but like most things the same concept is played out over and over again, with better graphics each time, but still....just no fun to play by yourself.

In comes, 1999 with the release of EVERQUEST for PC. a massive multiplayer online role playing game. though its not as much RP as such titles as Final Fantasy and Zelda, it however does something totally unforseen! It allows +2000 players to play the same game (per server total of 60ish) and be able to play together focusing on the multiplayer ascept it pushes you to make friends and group your characters together to work for a goal, whether it would be a new level to new equipment.

As the game evolved so did the community, more and more new players which split into 2 diverse groups...the hardcore players which worked hour upon hour to reach that new level to battle that new boss/event for new better items...and the casual players those that logged on to talk, do tradeskills and roleplay with people of similar likes. though the latter group would feel deprived of the end level game, the hardcore players continue to improve and get bigger and stronger as the events get more and more challenging.

Like the community the game itself is divided into two categories....friends and competition!....the game offers mass amount of people to get to meet and become friends....friend that later became more to a few people, but mostly friends....and the second being competition, with something new to concouqor and new gear/levels to obtain there will always be something that you wish you had but you need to work that extra bit harder to get.

characterization another key compenent to the success of this game, allowing you to make a unique character to personafiy your ingame character. allowing to changing simple hair styles, hair color, eye color, beards, scares, tattoos...and other things. as well as combination of race and class! orge warrior, or high elf wizard, perhaps troll shadowknight or maybe human paladin!...

imo, a game that was able to offer that much from the get go over 5years ago is astonishing. what is more mind boggling is the commitment to the game, with the first game costing 50$ and later expansions costing 30$ to paying a monthly subscription fee of 10$ the game is still making money! meaning it has a captivating feel to it that most single player games have never shown to me personally. and with a constant 80,000subscribe players from around the world; mainly US, European countries, Australia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and south america just to name a few.

now, come november! they take the next step into the evolution of the Everquest franchise being in he form of Everquest 2. With graphics surpasing anything current (to the point the the most current PC fully loaded will still not be able to run the game at full blast, which means the game has a longer life span graphic wise then the original. which when looked at compared to 2004 games lack graphically) as well as a more intense characterization process and much more!

I personally cant wait for this behemoth to come out, though abit weary of possible flop (which is common when a sequal comes out when the original is as big as it is).....

so.... all in all

i love all games, but by far the best Gamer game out available is Everquest with the Sequal to it just around the corner!

Btw, Everquest will not be shutdown or taken off, it is still growing with a new expansion planned for August.

~Q

p.s. Sorry if i sounded like a cheesy commerical, but this game has taken a part of my life and is well deserving for having kept me out of trouble and allowed to make new friends from around the world (which i've met some of).

try www.everquest.com

or check out my guild's website at www.divinegrace.org.uk its a european based guild.

~Q

guild is a group of people that have a private channel setup for members only and their guild's name hangs above their characters in game. I.e Qiteroplyisis <Divine Grace>
it allows for communication especially when taking on bigger events that require team play i.e. boss npcs that require 50-60players to defeat all working together to defeat it.
