This is probably not representitive BUT in 1996 I bought a 1994 Dodge B-350 12 passenger van with 60,000 miles on it and just this last December bought my F-150 to replace the van and the van had almost a quarter of a million miles on it. The only reason I got rid of it was the electricals were going to he--. I replaced the cooling system and the transmission during that time but other than regular stuff never had a complaint, in fact my daughter is still using it for her short commutes. Just my two cents worth. You know what ever makes you happy.

I misread your delivery mileage.

My bad. But I still stand by the fact that you compared apples to oranges. If you are happy with your Ram, all the power to you. it's your money and up to you how you spend it. The Ram isn't a bad truck. I personally prefer the Ford but I won't tell you to not buy the Ram if that's what you really want.

My point is that you didn't necessarily compare fairly in your choice to walk from Ford in favour of Dodge.

Ok, it's easy to get Km and Miles mixed up. But I ask this, How far are you willing to go if by chance you took delivery of a f-150 that did not meet your expectations, How manny warrenty claims, are you willing to under go, How much down time do you want to expierance with your Truck?

What $ value do you place on thease expierances?

I thought all this out when I bought the Ram.

I have stated that I owned a 97 f-150 I bought used and That I traded it off on my 2002 f-150, The 97 F-150 That I tradded off at 200,000 + KM never broke on me, and never caused me any problems, so thinking a 2002 would be just as good, if not beter, I traded up.

The 2002, was a basket case from day one, I'm not saying all Ford's were like mine, and even Dodge Ram's are gonna have thier problems, any truck that is mass produced run's the risk off being less than perfect, that is why they have warrenties, I can accept this.....Up to a point.

But when you do get one that is less than perfect, is your Ford, Chevy, Dodge pride goonna fix it, are you willing to spend more $ to that brand hopping, Just hopping the next one will be better, or are you gonna feel ripped off?

A lot of my problems were with the Ford dealer, and it was unfair to take it directly out on Ford, But The Blue oval drew me to this dealer, as well as my 97 f-150, and they all carry the Ford name...

So, I did not stay loyal, and If this Dodge ram leads me down the same road as the f-150, I will try a Chevy, if that fail's than maybe I will go back to Ford...

I respect your opion and comment's and never whish for any one to expeirance the problems I had with my last Ford, Don't care what you drive.

No truck is 100% perfect for every body, That's we can chose what we want, I don't agree that the 2004 f-150 is the truck ford claims it to be, nor is the 5.7 hemi the power house dodge is trying to sell, I can admit that, and still be happy with my Dodge....

What about Nissan?

Sorry that your F150 was a lemon, but I can see why your mouth was sour with Ford. Honestly, I hope the Ram works out for you. Feel free to stay and post, you're more than welcome here.

bad idea.

they are definitely having their own problems right now.

If the Ram pi$$es you off, the Titan would probably be the best route (assuming Ford is out of the picture)

I drove the Titan, and liked it more than the ram, but the Titan is not a user friendly work truck, can't get them in a 8 ft box, and here in Canada a fully loaded titan was $45,000 plues, To much coin for me...

Titans are lighter than the f-150 -Dodge ram, so I'm not convinced you need extra wieght to make a better truck.

Ford dose have an edge in trim level's and is more user friendly in picking options.

With the Titan, you have three trim level's, so it's nearly imposs. to pick what you want, than deleat what you don't want.

I also hate automatics, in the Titan and 2004 F-150 you Can't get a manual trans, One knock on the Automatic in the 2002 f-150 was it's eagerness to find overdrive, than when you needed extra go, on hills, or merging, truck rpm would go up, Than Transmission would pause, Than go on a hunting mision to find the right gear..

I did have the engine coumputer Re Flashed, did not make much of a difference.

When I locked out the overdrive, Truck ran better, but it got to be a pain allway's locking out the overdrive in city traffic.

The Titan in my mind is a better truck than the F-150 considering this is Nissans first attempt at a full size truck, But Nissan has been building truck's for a long time in othier market's than North America.

Congrats on the dodge. I hope it works out for you.

I test drove a 04 Ram 2500 slt 4X4 a few months ago. Nice, heavy truck. It drove really well and the interior was exceptional. But reliability ratings and word of mouth suggest that these are money pits. Some people are failing the rear axle within 20K miles. I liked the truck otherwise and wouldn't hesitate to buy one, if and when Chrystler can keep up with the others in quality.

As of right now, my Ford has been dead on reliable, and I'll never part with it. If I buy another truck, I'll be keeping my F150 as a back up.

Nissans first attempt at full size trucks in north American is the Titan. In Asia, Middle East, Ect, Nissan has been selling cars\trucks all most as long as Toyota.
