Here I am!

This is funny...I just got back today from a week in Florida (Played golf and other stuff)

My friend and I laughed when we saw how cheap gas was (not to mention how cheap houses are...but that's another story).

And so, as your faithful reporter of all things West L.A., I can report the following:

The Chevron station I usually get my gas at (which is the cheapest in the area) is

87 octane = 2.39.9
89 octane = 2.49.9
91 octane = 2.59.9

Just up the way in Brentwood, the 76 station on Bundy and San Vicente is

87 octane = 2.53.9
89 octane = 2.65.9
91 octane = 2.76.9

I did not see what the price for FULL service is, but it must be around 3.50

While in Florida I was in Orlando, Winter Park, Daytona (yup...went to the speedway...got pix later on) Cape Canaveral (VERY COOL PLACE!!!)
and Jacksonville.

The highest price I saw was 2.19 for supreme unleaded...and in FL they have 93 octane!!!!
(We're stuck with this 91 crap and to make matters worse, it's got that awful MTBE oxygenating BS)

So enjoy your low prices Florida, as well as your low housing costs, your low vehicle registration fees (although tolls on the 417 sucks), low taxes (and no state income tax), low cost of everything frankly (except for resort hotels...which are outrageous).....you've got it good....

By the way...here's something I can't figure out....what with the high cost of oil, how come airfares haven't risen dramatically?
