FL gas prices

The best price I’ve seen today, in the area, was $1.89 reg, $1.99 mid, and $2.09. I try not to complain because it can always get worse. I just tolerate it and thank God I drive such nice truck, Ford.

You have to expect gas prices to always be on the rise. With inflation and increasing wages/health care one would expect that record prices would be set each consecutive day.

Petrolium products are much akin to diamonds. Both are largely controlled by cartels who dictate the price. Fuel which creates a tremendous economic boom is cheaper than water yet less expensive than near useless and equally abundant diamonds.

Be happy that you can still afford to cruise aimlessly in your 15mpg vehicle. People in Europe pay over $4/gal.

In California we pay roughly $.36/gal in just taxes. That is in addition to the sales tax placed on your vehicle and ludacris registration fees.

[personal rant] People cry for the government to step in and change something because they feel they are being price gouged. What about other people who are being price gouged? A farmer is paid the same for a bale of cotton today as he was in the 70s. Last time I went to the movies I didn't pay $2 admission and buy $.50 popcorn and soda. Back then we also didn't have to pay a general laborer $7/hr plus benefits. While you are standing up against increasing fuel charges; stand up for the red blooded american who puts the food on your table and the clothes on your back. If you don't, then mom's home made american apple pie will come with a 'Made in China' label. [/personal rant]

You make some good points here except the one about "You have to expect gas prices to always be on the rise. With inflation and increasing wages/health care one would expect that record prices would be set each consecutive day." Did you see the profits made by the poor oil companies last year, i believe mobil made more than 77 billion in pure profit. Let them eat some of the cost for awhile then gas will level out and maybe even drop (yea right). The american farmer is another story all together. This poor guy struggles each year and makes only pennies (if hes lucky) compared to the oil companies. I simply can't believe people are not more vocal about this are we all just sheep following aimlessly. I believe we all need to be bitching more and more. Remember we have a HUGE country as compared to some of the tiny countries around the world. They built small, we built big and can accomadate larger everything.

Here in NE Florida, Gas prices are ranging anywhere from $1.89 to $1.99 for regular depending on the gas station company. The premium is running about $2.05 to about $2.20. EXXON stations are way out of proportion compared to everyone else. There are several that I have seen right next door to another company's station and the EXXON will be close to $.10 more than the other company for all 3 grades, 89, 91 and 93. That is just rediculous. That is really what you call price gouging.

The FL Space Coast area, there is up to a 20 cent difference between stations just blocks away from each other. Shell is one of the highest and BP, in my area, is the lowest.

I just paid 1.87 for 93 in one car and 1.99 for 94 in the Lightning. Then I went to another place and got a break...I paid $5/gallon for 104

NJ has got probably the lowest average for fuel prices, but everything else is high like car insurance. I guess living near the refineries has got its advantages.
