well this is what i found out when i went looking, suzuki guy that i talked to didn't know much of anything, no specs comparsions nothing, i really wanted to talk to the chick i knew in there because for the most part she is hot, but the gsxr are nice feeling, light wide seat, but like i said the guy i talked to didn't know much, wouldn't start it up blah blah blah so i guess i really didn't come outta suzuki learning much about there bikes. but i also did get to check out there hayabusa 1300, that is a pretty sweet bike anyone have any experince with this bike??? next came kawasaki the guy really liked the z1000 but didn't have one in and he said he didn 't know if he could get one in but the dealer was mostly yamaha for sport bikes he was really up on the R-1 and the FZ1 i think it was. both nice feeling bikes but both alittle more than i wanted to pay. last but not least honda walked in the door and they had a RUNE sitting there wow, massive, thing is like a tank, perfect cruzer, thing is just unreal looking... but anyways he had one carry over 954rr acouple of new 1000rrs, 1 interceptor that i really liked, he said they only sold like 2 a year? and one cool looking green 919, the 954rr had a tag of 9700, interceptor had a tag of 10500. and the 919 had a out the door price of 8300, the only thing i didn't like about the 919 is it is the naked version but it still did look kinda cool in it's own way, and i didn't feel as much at home on the 919 as i did on the 954 and the interceptor. but at all 3 dealers they said they never get sport bikes in on trade that are in good condtion.so i think i might have to go through a private guy...

A Hayabusa is scary fast. Hope this isn't going to be your first bike Porter.

I have a 96 Honda Rebel, 97 Ducati Monster900, 03 Honda Interceptor, & a 03 Yamaha R1. I'll eventually get a Busa.

I love cruising on the Interceptor. I can ride all day on it. It's more comfortable than the R1. But it's not as fast and I have to work it a little more in the corners vs the R1. The R1 is so much easier to flick into the corners.

Poter, why aren't they letting you start them up??? Usualy if you got the credit or cash in hand, they are pushing you out the door to try them out. I would highly suggest looking for another dealer or getting these clowns your dealing with to let you take it for a spin. You've got to ride an R1 before you buy anything else. The Hayabusa is an absolute monster but you got to buy what feels best to you. Who knows, the haybusa might make you feel uncomftorable or it may just make you buy it there on the spot. Vice versa for whatever tickles your boat.

There is nothing like getting a long straight and opening up a sport bike. That urge for more will never leave your system once youv'e done it.

Too bad your not in a big city like Diego, there in every shop used, new you name it they got it. Lots of private used bikes too with the military bases around here.

yea the nearest dealers to me are 45 mins away after that it's 2 hours!, and for the most part all the private guys have 600cc not what i'm really looking for, it was just the one dealer that that wasn't about starting up the bike, and letting me take around the block/down the road. kinda left a sour taste in my mouth. oh and i know about the long straight aways, on both a sport bike and on my sled mmmmm love it, also loved the twistys on the bike.
