From the SVT Ford web site, Cobra specs:

Induction system : Eaton Corporation Generation IV Roots-type supercharger with water-to-air intercooler
Boost pressure: 8.0 psi maximum

It seems like maybe the dealership doesn't know how much boost that car runs with.

Have your buddy check out the SVT site. There are the specs needed so that you don't have to take the dealers word for it.

Actually, no, they can't do either of those things. Dealer council agreements, contracts, and state franchise laws in most states prevent those types of actions. They can limit the numbers of high profile or high profit vehicles allotted to the dealer but only to a certain extent.

Blue Oval cert has more to due with the way a dealership looks on the outside vs. how they treat their customers.
