I agree, our troops are dying over there. Having a son in the Navy and a brother-in-law in the Air Force, I just cringe every time I hear a report like that. I hope all it ends soon.

Don't you see. That is what happened in Somolia and they are attempting to use the same tatics to get us to leave. The Iraqi rebels are doing everything they can to make us go, so they can terrorize their countrymen and have their way with the Iraqi women. If we leave now it will be another failed mission, like Somolia and it was failed not because of the military but because the political leader couldn't stomach the violence.

Now is not the time to talk about leaving now is the time to redouble our efforts. The opposing Iraqis are getting desperate that means WE ARE WINNING.

Wake up America?????

To what? This is called WAR, people will die in war and there is not much that can be done about that. Should we bomb that entire city and wipe them all out at one time? That is possible.

Either way here is the thing and as 1depd mentioned. These sick basturds are only trying to do something that they “think” will change our resolve. They believe this will change our resolve based on a very WEAK President we had in the White House for 8 years, Bill Clinton. Do you remember that coward? This is Bill Clinton’s legacy, he let the world, or more specifically terrorist come to the conclusion that America was weak and if a few Americans whined about something they didn’t like he would back down like a coward rather then doing the RIGHT THING regardless what a few thought.

There is nothing different now, most American’s are behind and believe in the war in Iraq and know it was the RIGHT thing to do in the War on terror. What is different is we do NOT have a coward in the White House worried about poll numbers, nor is he letting a few who are whining (liberals) change his mind on what the RIGHT thing to do is.

We will always have some in America who do NOT believe in the military or war. That is fine and that is their right to be completely illogical and unable to understand how freedom works. These people have the luxury of sitting around and mouthing off about their President and their country because others have DIED to make that possible for them. Yet these same ones sitting around whining about this and that cannot make a connection of past wars and DEATH that gave them that luxury but as I said these people do not possess any real logic.

What is happening is indeed sad and no one wants to see others die for any reason however when it comes to freedom it will always be a struggle and it will ALWAYS REQUIRE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN to die at times so we can maintain that freedom. That is the FACT and that is the TRUTH and anyone who cannot understand that has no logic…

Freedom cost and it cost dearly some need to really sit down and think and actually understand the basic of how freedom is possible and how it is maintained.

If anything remember this:

NOTHING is free in life, not even your own freedom…

AND WE ARE WINNING!!!!!

What a bunch of knee-jerkers! The vast majority of Iraqis are glad to have us there. Remember, if you can, that there is more to the story than what you see/hear on the nightly news. If you can't figure that out, then there is no hope for you.

i agree that the people that do that have completely lost every last bit of humanity inside them. its nothing a few dozen bombs cant solve though. seriously though, these *******s wanna go around and torture people that are just doing their jobs, then theres a problem. i know its war, i know there will be many deaths, but torturing people like this is beyond acceptable for war even. the US needs to stop messing around and move the troops out, bring in the jets and bomb the crap out of them. thats the best solution here. who cares who we **** off. its what needs to be done.

To All;

When I went through Basic Training 16 years ago there was a poem on a wall that was titled Freedom Isn't Free. This will always be the case. Currently where I'm at, I have the honor to see all those that have made the supreme sacrifice. When they come thru here they get a brief ceremony when they arrive and a little more formal one on the way out. I've been out here since Nov and probably won't be out of here until late May. Those of us over here have willingly made the choice to join or come out here for there own reasons knowing what could happen. What happened is tragic, but they are trying to get us out for they have been told all this time that we are the bad guys. Over time I think they will see the opposite of what they were told. I can't really say to much more at this time, maybe when I do finally get home I'll try to elobrate.

01 XLT Sport; That was an excellent post (a little long winded;-) ). I know first hand about the acts of war and i need not be reminded of it. I fought in nam and was in the middle of the ***** for more time than i wish to remember. I watched my buds come apart, get blown apart, man i have seen it first hand. I am not suggesting we pull out, oh no brother i want to counter attack and let them know that this kind of brutality will have dire consequences, From what i have read we are not even a presence in the city anymore. Put many many soldier’s on every rooftop; arm them with a 50 cal, bolt action rifle and a 400 x scope and each time one of them gets out of line makes trouble whatever take there fuc&in heads off. This in time will work, been there done that.

You say freedom is free, well I tend to disagree
I say freedom is won, with the barrel of my gun

I dunno if thats is part of the one you are talking about, but thats the one we had when I went through 2 years ago

Edit - the more I think about it, the more I can think of different poems that could be called "freedom isnt free"

No, Freedom Isn't Free
-Author Unknown

I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.

I heard the sound of taps one night,
When everything was still
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That taps had meant "Amen,"
When a flag had draped a coffin
Of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.

*****************************

Is that the one you're refering to? Don't get me wrong in my first post on this subject. I support our troops and realize that most of the freedoms we enjoy are because of young men and women that have the moral fiber to go out and stand up for our country!! God Bless you all. I merely meant that I hope it all ends soon so that the remaining troops can be brought home safely to their loved ones. As stated before I have a son in the Navy and a brother-in-law in the Air Force, neither of them are in harms way at the moment but you never know what could happen. I am also married to a Coast Guardsman. I realize that the CG isn't as involved with actions like this as the other forces but did you know that they did send ships into the Persian Gulf a few years ago? It scares me that they may have to go, not that they aren't prepared to do so, but I think my fright is a normal human reaction.

I am with you on that brother. Time to get into that city like a bunch of ants. The thing that just absolutely pisses me off is just how much of a coward terrorist are. I wonder if they know how they truly do NOT in any way look or act like a real man and how many if not most people see them as little scared cowards…
