You say people need to think for themselves and not believe everything some one writes; I agree whole heartedly about this. We cannot let others think for us, we have to do the research and come to the truth ourselves. I believe that through study and research that the evidence is quite clear on this matter.

Do the research and keep in mind the sources.

I am catholic made my commuion, conformation, etc.. (forced by my parents). People kill for reasons most of us can't fathom. Mostly it is robbery, car jacking, adultry, over heated conversations, war, mis-understandings, tresspassing and drunk driving/car accidents but more people are killed each year due to religion then any thing else except starvation. What about all the preverts in the church system today (and who knows about yesterday). If a god were out there, up there, where ever there why would he allow this kind of torture of our young children??. They are scared for life while the church just quietly pays off the family with donations from the abused families??? I don't get it. Its the sheep thing for sure.

the truth is, more people have died in the name of Christianity than Islam.

The Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, Salem witch hunts etc.

And before you tell me that this happened before our enlightenment, consider than many countries that practice Islam are about 300+ years behind North AMerica in terms of societal develpment. Which puts them where Christian nations were 300 to 500 years ago... killing in the name of religion.

 

The reason so many people have died in the name of Christianity is because this is what happens when man tries to play God and force everyone to be christians. Who Jesus is and what he came to do and his purpose is all true. He did exist. He fulfulled prophecy. He was crucified and he was resurrected. All this is fact. The problem is that fallen man has tried to conquer the earth in the name of God - They failed and caused many more to not accept the truths of christianity. Now Islam is sort of doing the same thing and will have the same outcome. And the only other thing I will say is that everyone will know the truth eventually - and that goes for myself as well because I don't have all the answers either.
