I still cache frequently and maintain 5 of my own caches in a near by park (all of which were found yesterday).

With the travels for my job, I get an opportunity to have a lot of fun in a lot of places. It's a great way to find new spots when you're in a 'different' place and also a great way to run across fellow caching enthusiasts (as there are A LOT of them).

I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for some excercise with something that is very addictive.

I am already hooked. I need a new GPS...the one I have is about 10 years old.

~Edit~

Are you a member of www.geocaching.com? If so, can I assume your user name is the same as it is here? I just joined the site today and my user name is the same as it is here. That website is chock full of stuff!

Wow! I just looked and there are dozens within a couple miles of my house. I've never heard of this before but it sounds cool. Just for kicks, punch in zip code 32730 and see how active this sport is in my immediate area. This is cool!

It's like that all over! I like the historic finds...where you follow historic battle grounds, etc.

Don't want to upset Dzervit with a repost...

Was gonna start a new thread about this, but found out it was already started.

If you have already read my "snake" fourm, you would already know that I went out Geocaching this weekend.

I must say, this thing is very addicting. I really like getting outside and hiking, now this whole geocaching thing has made it even more enjoyable. I picked up a travel bug from one of them and plan on moving it to either AR or TN in the next few months.

Man people are lazy these days.

Years back when I was a boy scout we used to do this with maps!

Batteres go dead then I do it like the indians. Look for land marks and read the sun during the day or stars at night. I don't need no stinkin' map!

Now where am I? I don't remeber that hill being there.

PSS-Mag:

What part of the Ozarks are you lost in? I used to live around Bull Shoals, AR.

I've been on Bull Shoals a few times. Nice lake!
I'm up a little closer to Lake Of the Ozarks in Missouri.

Seems like it could be a lot of fun... good exercise, get to be outdoors... blah blah blah...

I think I'm going to give it a try for the first time this weekend.

I geocache with the wife and both boys (11 and 4)... We all love it.
