Whether you beat it up or not isnt even the point.

If he complains of an oil leak, you look under the hood and see a blower. If the warranty is void then you close the hood and you are done. No reason to be driving the car in the first place.

At most you idle the car into the garage to put it on a lift and take a look before seeing a blower, still no reason to have someone elses car out and about.

Im sure you wouldnt want someone driving your vehicle around without your consent. But whatever. Ford has eyes everywhere.

I see them advertised in the SVTOA mag I get in the mail. But just because something is advertised by the SVTOA doesnt mean its allowed under Fords warranty.

ok first, just because the warrenty was voided, doesnt mean that they didn't do the work. If they did do the work, that means he probably took it for a test drive after to make sure it was fine. You don't know that, so don't assume.

Secondly, duh, you put a supercharger on a n/a vehicle, you can kiss a lot of crap goodbye. It's unfortunate that he has to kiss his entire warrenty goodbye, including internal stuff and paint, etc etc, but im not sure if thats really how it works. In anycase, im pretty sure the guy isn't happy, but im sure he knew it was a possibility.

Also, head gasket leaking oil? Sounds like it could be at fault of the s/c to me. (well, not the s/c alone really, but a combination of things)

Arrow I see the origin of the problem

as follows:

1) a car company makes a name for selling cars that have good mod potential, and the service people are reasonable when it comes to the mod causing the current problem.
2) the competition catches up, technolory advances, the company has to look after costs alittle more.
3) they lose the edge that made them so attractive in the first place.
4) a typical human reaction follows: tightnen up on costs even more.
5) see step 3.

My SVT Focus allready had the valve cover gasket replaced, and EVERY SVTF has had a leaky valve cover gasket.
Jeez, now I gotta convince Faith to let me borrow the car for a day so I can check this out

Shame on you for making me do that

I think its become apparent to everyone, including Ford that there is a "Focus" problem. They are selling them with the 5/100 warranty. Which of their other vehicles come with this coverage? Im sure Ford knows whether or not the s/c caused the failure, but they will use that as their excuse to not pay for it.

I don't think you shoulda been joy riding in his car either. A brake job doesn't require you to find out if a car is "fast" to check.

If I found out that you were driving my truck without my consent, I would be raising hell.

Ruh roh. May I inquire as to the possibility of a supercharger ploping onto the top of your engine?

TAKE OFF YOUR MODS FOR WARRANTY.

also it was super fast, fun to drive too
From someone who later in a post states that you have holed your airbox and should have your warranty voided ...you should have fought this for the customer.

I have the leak too, around my valve cover:

And, I had it before this:
