Question T.V. Question

OK T.V. fanatic's I need some advice on a new T.V.. My 26" T.V. is on its last leg, and well just need some info on a new one.

1st question: I'm looking at a 32" Flatscreen RCA model T.V. any pros or cons about this type of T.V. ?{wish I knew the model no.}

2nd question: Any other T.V.'s out there that I should look at?
I've heard that Toshiba t.v.'s are pretty good?

The main thing I'm looking for is a T.V. with a nice SHARP picture to it.

Well any help on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks!

Check out the Sony Wega or any Sony that has "XBR" in the model number.
Good quality stuff.

I would stay away from Sony. Besides being overpriced, the last two Sony TV's I have had were fuzzy and had wavy pictures.

I use to be a _huge_ fan of Sony equipment but lately their quality just isn't up to par. The last two TV's I had were a Sony 27" Wega V-series and a 32" XBR. Both had excellent color, but the clarity of the image wasn't as good as a Panasonic that my brother bought for half the price.

Worse, when the Sony's display certain paused or static images, the picture is wavy and will drive you nuts. Both Sony's do this as do the models I have seen on display in stores.

I could deal with both problems because the Sony TV's look good, have great remotes and a great menu system. The problem is that they cost twice as much (or more) than comparable TV's from other manufacturers.

Toshiba, Hitachi and JVC all make good tv's. There are consistently rated well. RCA and Sony truly suck. The only Sony products I've ever been happy with are my cordless phone and my walkman.

I love both my 10yr old 20" Sony and 5 year old 32" Sony. Both are plain models, not flat. The 20" was a gift, and the 32" was a refurb so the price was fair. My brother has a nice Toshiba 32" that he likes a lot. I would not spend too much on a CRT TV, though. Regardless of what they say they suppoot, they cannot display true HD resolution. All signals get downconverted to 480p

Thumbs up T.V. ?

I just got a 42 " Zenith plasma and could'nt be happier!!!!! My previous TV was a Toshiba 36" and before that was a N.E.C 48" projection. The N.E.C really had a good picture but the color guns had to be replaced three times in seven years, thank god for extended warranties. The Toshiba was without a doubt the best set I ever owned. It was five years old my son now has it and absolutely no problems. I haven't had the plasma long enough to know if it'll be problematic or not.

Thanks guys for all the feedback! I probably need to go out of town and do some looking around aslo. Not many choices to choose from in this town. Need to find a Toshiba dealer and look at there sets. My Uncle was at one time the local Phillips / Magnovox dealer in town, but he sold it and now is old store just carry's RCA's and Zenith T.V.'s. I've heard that Phillips T.V.s are now marketed to the lower end consumer? Well if anybody esle has anything to say keep it comming.
