On my way to work, at the stop light, there was an old Dodge car sittin' in front of me. In lieu of a license plate was a piece of cardboard that said "Title and Tax Applied For' I believe... There isn't any other place you could get away with that but here.

 

Or the other one I've seen is "Tag Stolen".

 

Or maybe it was 'tag' instead of 'tax.' I don't remember.

 

I saaw those all the time in South Carolina...I think that qualifies as the southeast. It was good for a traffic stop.

 

In Indy, I've seen a paper plate (the kind you eat off of) taped to the back window that had "plate stolen" written on it

 

Crime is even worse here.
In Virginia I've seen a napkin taped to the back window that had "paper plate stolen" written on it.
